OFFICIAL Virginia Gubernatorial Election RESULTS THREAD

If Cuccinelli had some money, he could have run a gamut of ads targeting women & could have easily shaved off 4-5% in that category that he's getting blasted in.

Young single women are overwhelmingly statist. Hard nut to crack.

He is keeping it surprisingly close in Loudoun and Prince William Counties. I am also seeing some interesting trends on the western border toward Cooch. It is still a horse race.

Those are good signs. Loudoun is a swing county and Prince William went for Obama by a big margin last election.

Drudge has 56% reporting and:

MCAULIFFE 43.69%

argggh.. its closing. I'm happy that there are about ~50k votes seperating them, I just hope some pro-cucc counties come in to pad it a bit before the "voting for a living" types start marching in.

They're an attainable crowd if the GOP got its rhetoric together rather than let themselves be labeled as the Party with a 'War on Women' when members vote against the Violence Against Women Act. Say, for example, that violence against anyone is bad and it shouldn't take a law passed to tell people not to do something that, by all means, is already illegal. Instead, Republicans are too hard-lined and put their feet in their mouths when it comes to women. So do Democrats, but they have no problem with that demographic.

Typical... All the big government employment or heavy welfare counties/cities favoring McAuliffe... Cooch losing the WELFARE COUNTIES

Heard this stat: Over 170,000 Federal Workers in Virginia

yikes, Richmond county... McAuliffe 72% Cooch 20%

Yep. Most of Richmond outside of the government area is ghetto.

You must have read an early report. Vpap has Cooch up 56% to 37% with 5 out of 6 precincts reporting.

Getting a good vibe from all this. I just want to see Ken win so Obama and the Dems will have egg on their faces. Would also be an early indication that people are starting to see their premiums spike up, and they are PISSED.

McAuliffe is pretty loathsome too, even by Democrat standards. Many people don't know he tried to bribe Ralph Nader to drop out of the Presidential election in 2004, and then filed multiple lawsuits trying to kick him off the ballot. Whatever one thinks of Nader, that's pretty anti-democratic for a (D).
