OFFICIAL Virginia Gubernatorial Election RESULTS THREAD

I hope the libertarian candidate fucks him over, but I dont live in VA

Good, I'm glad you don't. I do.

Cuccinelli may not be perfect, but he's certainly much better than McAwful. Gun rights have made great progress in VA the past 4 years and I'm fighting to keep it that way.

Why? The LP candidate isn't anything to be proud of. He actually favors carbon taxes.

Probably because big "L" Libertarians are sheeple just like Republicans are. They vote for whoever runs on the party ticket, regardless of the positions they take. Yet the taunt the position that they "think for themselves".

I live in rural SW Virginia. Hardly anyone at the polls today.

Thinking for yourself is voting for the lesser of 2 evils, if a L gets a good turnout even if its a terrible L, it increases the chances of more parties getting representation in debates. More representation of smaller parties is a good thing to me. Obviously the L isnt going to win in virginia and from the sound of it thats a good thing, but a high turn out helps the liberty movement in my opinion.

Virginia turnout also tracked with the 2012 presidential cycle electorate: 72% white, 20% black, 4% Hispanic, 2% Asian, 2% other.

If you consider that there is no way to get even something remotely of the majority of those 26% ( black, hispanic, asian ) + from those 72% you are losing with women, young people and "professional voters" aka government workers there is no way that you can win in hell.

You can field Thomas Jefferson/Jesus or Washington/GOD on the notion of fiscal conservatism and moral responsibility and they would lose to a Hillary/Hitler.

Having more parties isn't a panacea. Some of the most socialist countries on the planet have multi-party elections.

What if Sarvis is pulling more votes from the Dem than Cuccinelli? Anybody know where the big Dem counties are in Virginia?
