Official presidential election results thread - Nov. 8, 2016

John Oliver says Social media bad, mSM good... must be true. I get all my information from comedians as they know best.

Do kids today even watch these aging "comedians"? I think they're only helping to make the next generation rebel against the left.

Am I the only one sick and tired of dumbasses from the UK coming to America to pontificate their utter crap on ou television and radio? BOLLOCKS!

The ones who wrote the bill did.

How could they possibly have known that? Asians still voted Republican back then and I don't think there was any information on Hispanic voters yet (except that Cubans were overwhelmingly Republican).

Maybe because they voted for socialists in their own countries? Why would Democrats have written and passed the legislation unless they believed that these newcomers would vote Democrat?

A lot of the immigrants were escaping from Socialism, like the Cubans. Asians voted Republican into the '90s.

I don't mean to make this a 40 page thread, but it would be awesome to have Peter Schiff in there too :p

It would indeed be awesome, dannno.

Let me take a moment to make a note of something entirely unrelated. Is it just me, or do any of the rest of you notice at least one completely horrible, ungrammatical, and obvious mistake in every single news article you read? E.g., in the CNBC's that dannno posted:

He insists that rather than helping the economic backdrop, the excess liquidity has created fragile asset bubbles so fragile that may send the U.S. spiraling into a recession worse than what occurred during the financial crisis.

And they are always obvious like this. It's like they're messing with us, trying to bring down the language.

Or just on the verge of bankruptcy and can afford neither competent writers nor any editors/proofreaders whatsoever.

Let's hope it's the latter.

I mean, every single article, man!

Keep believing that Democrats passed a bill that they thought would increase the Republican voter base. Cuba is a unique situation. As it turned out the immigrants from South America did vote overwhelmingly democrat. They weren't trying to escape socialism, they were trying to escape poverty. Most of them aren't smart enough to realize it was caused by the socialism. Our leaders knew that, and they knew it would change the ethnic balance of the country, but they told the people otherwise.
