Ok so I talked with my guy about the ad time.

Not only would it play before Nat'l Treasure but all movies at each theatre that we get. This can be done nationally or on a local basis. He didn't have the pricing info in front of him so he told me to send him an email and he will get me all the info by Monday or Tuesday.

So, What we need to do is start a chipin anyway. Regardless if we get this intime for the first weekend run of Nat'l Treasure 2 I still think this is a great way to get a captive audience that cannot change the channel.

Ultimately if we don't get enough funds then we just donate that money to other Ron Paul events or ideas.(ie blimp and other things)

We are going to use Adrian Greys ad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94D-jEZo70A

this goes the best with the National Treasure movie

any questions or suggestions are greatly appreciated

Sounds AWESOME Just make sure you use a high enough resolution version that it isnt HELLA BLURRY once its on the BIG screen

Awesome video, and a really good idea...I would contribute money to a chip in for this. I assume we would get some stats before hand like number of screens, locations, estimated number of viewers?

Also, it would be cool if we could get some of the grass roots members to spend the few bucks to get into some of the showings that will feature the ad, and leave slim jims or other materials in the cup holders at each seat. :)

We probablly need to work some frames in to take care of FEC regs 'this ad paid for by so and so"

Also if there are bulletpoints that we think might strike hotter for the issues at hand how hard would those be to cut in?

Someone would probably have to fine tune the audio too, no? I assume that the sound systems at the movies would really highlight any flaws?

I agree, I think this would be great to do with National Treasure...again, an idea like this is great, because the PEOPLE are coming to you, YOU aren't going to the people. The people are in their "comfort zone" so they are more likely to accept what they see in a positive manner.

That was an excellent ad to have before the National Treasure! How do we make it happen?

This is undoubtedly going to be a big deal. I think it would be a good thing to have as much transparency as possible updated in the Ops post. I don't want to put the ad guy out but whatever you can post about his agency and contact information to get this vetted for everyone would be a good thing.

Sorry, but what are the rates?

Are you looking at all major markets, etc.?

Sounds like a fantastic idea! Again, don't know about the FEC.

Rates are still to be announced... I'm waiting on am email back from him

We are looking NATIONALLY

the guy said the ads are usually 15 sec spots but I'm trying to work out 30 sec.

AdrianGrey has the high resolution raw version of the video, so any adjustments can be easily made by him.

I will comment. The www.ronpaul2008.com needs to be more prominent on the video.

This would be a kick ass tactic! Does it comply with FEC?

NT II is just the kind of crap movie tons of people go to see. :)

Ok now you guys can all help me out by emailing this guy and telling him that he needs to get me the info ASAP don't tell him I told you to email him.

He may not think I'm exactly serious so you guys let him know that we are "DAMN SERIOUS"!!!! BE NICE he's a nice guy

He said he will also give us credits for mobile billboards example(for every xx amount we spend on the ads he will credit us free billboards or mobile billboards)

I'd be hesitant to use this tied to a particular movie the way previews are; I don't know about the rest of you, but the ads that run after the so-called start time of the movie annoy the hell out of me. I paid to see a movie and maybe a few previews dammit, I don't want to see any ads after you already charged me $9.75. If I was a less committed supporter, an ad during the previews section would very much turn me off. If we're going to run this as an in-theater ad, it should be in the what-used-to-be-a-slideshow before the previews run.

Do we have any idea on the price.
It is like 5K? or more like 50k+? I have never even looked into something like this, so I was just curious if anyone knew.

I think this is a great idea, but I will say just one thing. Lots of times people actually get pissed when you mix their "escapism" with politics. I know gamers get so mad when you bring up politics. They say "Don't mix games with politics, yo" "I use this as my escape from that bull....".

I am not saying this isn't a good idea. I think this is an awesome idea, but just keep that in mind.

There you go. The guy above me, hates mixing entertainment with politics.

Please make sure that you keep your OP edited and up to date so that we don't have to read through 50 pages to find out what's going on.

I have been in contact about advertising at a theater here in town. The rates she gave me were $210 a week for one movie theater. 392 times a week the ad would play. Minimal 12 weeks purchase time.
