Official Maine Caucus Results thread

Well, we are the only people voting for a Republican that is okay with gay marriage, and the guys from 300 looked pretty gay. So.... hmm.

I don't recall Ron saying he was OK with gay marriage, in fact he said he personally didn't agree with it at all, he believes marriage is between a man and woman, his only point is that govt shouldn't be involved in it as in defining marriage and handing out special priviledges to people that are married.

Focus should be on Washington now. Michigan and Arizona.... We could score #2 in Michigan if some work is done there. I am not too enthusiastic about Arizona, mainly because it may be like Colorado.

Washington would be a good strategy. We've been Phoning From Home to Washington for weeks. I think Ron needs to go there NOW. RIGHT NOW. I hope he doesnt go back to texas, unless its for Congressional work for his district. He needs to go to Washington right away. Stay in Washington as long as possible.

Even if winning is not important, I think wins are necessary to get more money into the campaign and super PAC coffers. Will Ron Paul's staffers remain with Ron without pay if the funds run dry? I hope Ron's staffers are so dedicated that they may ommit pay for a few months =3.

Contrary to some of the comments, the results in Maine were excellent. If this was a winner-take-all scenario then a second place would be a problem, but this is a proportional system - therefore a strong second is nearly as good. The argument being offered by some is that a win would somehow generate media coverage. However, judging by past events, trends, and tactics - the most likely response to a Ron Paul first place finish In Maine would consist of the media still spinning it in their normal way. Therefore, today was a great day, with over 1 in 3 caucus goers supporting Dr. Paul.

Isn't that what we want? Paul for president or complete failure of the nation? That's the whole concept of no one but paul. You could try your hardest, but you probably can't show me that to this point paul had less votes in 2012 vs 2008. That means we are adding people to the movement. Even with OUT the media's help.

Yes, and if we were doing the 2008 hyperlocal OFFLINE tactics instead of having the campaign obsess over short big media interviews we'd have much, much more.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Ron can't win without massive offline MLM style people talking and convincing others of the truth about the real issues.

A ton of places in Maine haven't caucuses yet. There is still a good chance we can win this. Let's not be negative. STAY POSITIVE!

I agree with you that Ron could sometimes frame his responses better, but the amount of 'criticism' from armchair campaign managers you see around here is excessive.

Its packed with them. I don't remember it being this bad last time.

not to be a debbie downer or anything but I believe that the Maine state GOP chairman just announced the rest of the counties won't count...

Supremely disappointing. We come so close to winning and it gets snatched away at the last minute. Gotta win Washington now, losing hope that we'll win any state. I'm in it to the end regardless, there is no alternative.

Washington? Alaska? Vermont? Oregon? Idaho? Montana? Wyoming? North Dakota? South Dakota? Louisiana? Texas?

I'm not looking at recent polls or anything, but if we can get out of another candidate's back yard, we'd be a little better off. North. Cold. Not too many Mormons. Not too many Evangelicals. Not containing Boston suburbs.

I wonder if we really were as close in Maine going into today as we thought we were. Some of the numbers from today that we saw were pretty outstanding. I think we might've been winning but underperforming going into today. Does anyone know this?

Or is this just another case where we don't learn anything?

4th in Colorado disappointed me more than this. The west has a reputation for being more libertarian. It goes to show Ron Paul's crossover appeal to unaffiliated voters. It's much easier for them to participate in states like Minnesota and Maine with open caucuses.

Mr. Queer David Frum the reptilian talking some smack regarding Ron Paul !
Yeah, these carpetbagging reptiles from Canada are annoying. That FRUM parasite was BUSH's propagandist to get over 5,000 Americans killed 10,000s wounded/maimed, and playing the far right war machine. Now the Chameleon is on the Left fooling the other half of the American Zombie Viewers on the Cyclops Hypnotizing Machines.

David Frum should be deported... but I see he has found a new reptilian home with Blitzer, Borga, King, Bash, and the rest of trashcan liars.

But let's watch Ron Paul's Maine GOP speech on FOX NEWS CHANNEL BTW, if 84.7% of the Vote has been counted, why does FOX NEWS state 95% reporting?
