**Official** LibertyPAC Presidents Day Money Bomb Thread

The campaign should provide embed codes for those donation tickers so we can spread the money bombs and their totals easily.

Blegh. If I had a job, I'd be in for way more, but since I already donated $ to the libertypac last week when Ron's email about Iowa was sent, my unemployed self could only spare $10 for this particular moneybomb. Still, it felt good to donate last week and it felt great today. :)

So $303,544 was the starting point? In the past the money bomb tickers were set to zero, weren't they? Anyone know what time zone it started in?

IIRC the tickers were always been just quarterly and we just calculated MB totals. People started donating before midnight est

Amount: $20.12
Transaction ID: 261160625
Transaction date/time: 2011-02-21 02:23:09

Will donate a few thousand if he runs, but wanted to get something in there for now.

Not to be a downer, but we've only raised about 21K in the past three hours. This isn't progressing like the two big money bombs in late-2007. I hope things pick up later in the day.

This is not at all the same.. Understand that..

Lol the campaign hasn't even started yet.. Ron hasn't announced.. You cannot make that comparison..

Why did you miss out? Welcome to the forums :)

Hi. Thanks. I missed out on the first go-around due to self-defense-induced apathy and ignorance.

Waaay back in the day I used to be something of a news & politics junkie, but the cumulative grotesqueries of politics & the media eventually put me right off the habit.

This culminated with the reign of Bush II, the Iraq war, the PATRIOT Act, the spectacle of alleged fiscal conservatives spending like crazy, etc. ad nauseum. And I finally realized that the mainstream media is really just a 4th branch of government - the Department of Propaganda. So I completely stopped watching the news or paying any attention at all to politics. It was just too depressing & infuriating.

I was familiar with Ron Paul from the "old days," but I had no idea he had run in 2008 until after the fact - someone at work asked me what I thought about him after I had expressed contempt for some governmental stupidity or other. When I found out & learned more about his campaign & the revolution he seemed to have set off, I felt like weeping with frustration that I had missed it all.

If you had told me several years ago that I would (willingly) be giving my money to a politician. I would have said you were nuts.

I know, but I don't see why I can't make the comparison. His supporters know that this is probably the main way Ron is going to gauge how much support he has in deciding whether to run. When I first looked at the widget around Midnight Central, I thought we had raised $300K in the first hour. Then I find out it started out with that from donations prior to today.

On the upside, the bombs were always slowest overnight, and always picked way up when people started waking up. It's still possible that, even with only a modest acceleration, we could get to $1 million. And I agree that bombs once he's formally a candidate should do better.

Plus those were promoted on Youtube and everywhere on the internetz for months beforehand.

Sweet!! :D

if things dont pick up im starting to get pretty worried, we really need to hit Iowa hard to be taken seriously, I figured we would at least raise a million today. This is the most crucial point in the campaign that would land us lots of exposure. If we can't pull this off everyone will continue to remain skeptical and consider him unelectable.

This is just the first strike to wake up the large Ron Paul contingent who aren't political junkies hanging out on RPF. When the official campaign begins the money bombs will be promoted far and wide for weeks and be well attended by the hardcores and casual Paul fans. We will rack in millions.

i had unsubscribed from everything except my membership at the "precinct captain" site email, but thankfully managed to get the email reminder this morning from Liberty Pac reminding me of the moneybomb or i probably would NOT have known about it. This to me spells success in the endevor from both them in their part and me in my part. Kudos to the folks down working hard at Liberty-PAC

I've always found it fascination on how people come to Ron Paul. So you were politically tuned out for a while, which is totally understandable. What was it like seeing all the inspiring youtube videos his supporters made when you got involved? Did you run into anyone promoting Ron online? Have you watched the grassroots movie "For Liberty" yet? I'd like to hear your thoughts on that film.

And you haven't missed anything, you're just in time to harvest the seeds we planted in 2007. This year we're gonna do it bigger and better and I think we're going to surprise a lot of folks.

Based on rough comparisons to previous moneybombs, I estimate $200k for the day. (About 1/10 of the moneybomb was raised by this time of the morning in 2007-2008.)
