Yeah, we crashed and burned pretty hard. Oh well, onward and forward. I still love my team, every last one of them. I don't quite know what went wrong or what went amiss during the Devils series, but I know enough about my team to know something was wrong and they weren't playing as they usually do. Unfortunately they couldn't pick it up or get it back together before elimination.

I am proud of my FlyBoys for going this far. I am proud of them for losing Pronger in the beginning of the season and losing other players with multiple injuries, and still pulling through it. Our rookies played amazing, and the should be proud of themselves (Schenn, Read, Wellwood, Couterier... thanks guys, for playing like league veterans). Next year is our year :)

Good luck to the remaining teams (I'm rooting for the Kings)!
 
The Flyers have little to no structure in their game. They got past the Pens as the Pens had a full scale system meltdown. Their defence stopped playing and Fleury was aweful. The Devils play(ed) with incredible discipline in all 3 zones and forcheck very efficiently. The Flyers have nearly no structure in ANY zone. They score a ton of goals because they are wicked talented up front, but they give back so many chances because even their offence is unstructured. They fly by the seat of their pants, turn the puck over and end up on the wrong side of the play very, very often.

Bryzgagalov doesn't get enough credit, he was unreal for the last half of the year. If he played well, instead of standing on his head...the Flyers may have ended up in the 8th seed.

No Chris Pronger was a huge gap for the Flyers. He is a true pillar and knows how to control the pace of a game a put immediate structure into a teams game. Chris Pronger is like having a great coach who actually plays the game and is the teams MVP.

The Flyers, despite their embarassment of riches up front...do not play Championship, playoff hockey.

Unless there's a serious overhaul in how they play - this team will frustrate you and fall short year after year. See; Washington Capitals (until maybe this year, but even they are down right now).

This has been a very interesting playoffs so far. Nothing has been predictable...LA is looking unstoppable.

I don't find anything frustrating about a team who, 2 years ago, were down 3-0 in a series and came back to win the series, winning 4 in a row. I am not at all frustrated. Embarrassment of riches, do not play playoff hockey? They have been in the playoffs since 2007 (out for the 06-07 season, the first time since 1994), losing in the stanley cup finals in 09. Hell, I was a fan back in the 06 season when they lost double the amount of games they won and has the worst record in the entire NHL - yes, even behind the islanders - and missed the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.

I am a big believer that a year can make a big difference. In 06-07 we had the worst record in the NHL... and in 07-08, we made it to the ECF losing only 2 games more than the ED champion. I have faith in my team. It will come, in a year or two, or 5, or 10. I'll wait. :)

This is the first year I've really followed NHL Hockey, and I am loving it. Go Rangers!!!
 
And Finally, Hockey should most certainly, absolutely, with out a doubt...be banned.

Four games is a bit ridiculous. 2-3 is acceptable. Considering the other hits/suspensions so far this season, it's ridiculous.
