I fucking hate Chelsea dagger. Almost as much as I hate the Hawks.

Hockey is the only team sport I have the patience to watch. Football drags, baseballs stand still, soccer is fidgetty, basketball is bouncy and gay, la crosse is alright but ya never see it.

Hehe.. Reminds me. We won the championship against the other team 13-0 when I was 11y.o.. Because our goalie has a shutout we mobbed him. My mom ran over and reached over the boards and started pulling boys off him telling them" He didn't do anything wrong. Get off him right now!" Funny shit npow but I was supremely embarrassed.

What team did he play for (majority)? Philadelphia, baby! He was definitely a Broad St. Bully, no doubt... he was not afraid to throw punches in defense of himself, or to even start a fight

Disappointing he will not be representing us in the Winter Classic Alumni Classic this year...

How about actually talking hockey. But first lets establish the facts:

Western Conference is much more competitive than the East.
Canucks are the best team in the world.
Canada is the best at hockey, followed by Sweden then US. Russians suck.
NHL head office is corrupt, Bettman sucks.
Announcers on NBC and Versus suck.

I tend to like the announcers better on versus and NBC than I do Canadian networks....and this coming from someone only paying attention because of the backdrop noise. Cdn networks are full of guys with charisma but with horrible Eastern accents and vocabulary.

Canada and USA are the best with Sweden close behind, but Russia does not suck. They are simply unpredictable and are seen as inconsistent players that sometimes lack passion.

You'll notice in every sport they love to slag the commissioner b/c it's the easy thing to do....if NHL fans don't like Bettman they should research the NBA and see how they like David Stern the Iron Jew.

At least on American networks they're trying. The only thing they've been guilty of in the past is coming off as being uneducated about the game, at times overzealous, and also they made the bad decision to highlight the puck on tv with green or red....but they've since improved IMO.

I really like Jim Hughson too, grew up listening to him do local Canucks broadcasts. I also love John Shorthouse and his sidekick John Garret who do local broadcasts on sportsnet pacific now in Vancouver.

Not bad, Philly and Pittsburg keep their rivalry, same with the Habs and Bruins. I'm sure Detroit is going to be unhappy though, they've wanted to move to the east for a whole and their stuck in a western conference still, at least now all their rivals are in the same time zone.

What seems ridiculous is to have Florida and Tampa in the same conference as Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Buffalo. Those two should switch with New Jersey and either the Islanders or Rangers.

I really like Jim Hughson too, grew up listening to him do local Canucks broadcasts. I also love John Shorthouse and his sidekick John Garret who do local broadcasts on sportsnet pacific now in Vancouver.

Blech. I was forced as a child to listen to these types of broadcasts.

On an amateur note, I propose that all hockey players pay a premium for ice time to cover the damage incurred to the ice. Figure skaters always get the short end of the stick: deep rivets in the ice, that is, ruined ice after a hockey practice that a one-time Zamboni cleaning can not heal and hockey players always get the locker rooms while we get the benches outside. Clear case of discrimination. It's time they pay up for their premium VIP treatment. This should be a constitutional matter in Canada.

Oh I have a good hockey story. When the Red Wings beat the Penguins to win the Stanley Cup I predicted that the next year the Penguins would beat the Red Wings for the cup and it happened. It's my best sports prediction to date. Lol.
