Way Smooth and Silky

Way smooth and silky with a nice wheatly-esque-ishness. A truly unique style featuring a strong hop finish on a silky body. A hoppy pale wheat ale that is great for IPA fans but so smooth that the hefeweizen fans dig it too.

Mr Animal brought home a bottle of this stuff vvv. I don't know who's gonna drink that whole bottle of tequila but I'm not gonna help. Aside from a weak margarita on ladies night, I stay away from that stuff.

Pretty cheap, but good value. Full and rich. Vanilla and caramel on the nose with a toffee/saltiness taste. Decent finish with a little fruitiness. Not much of a burn, but it's not bad.

If you like the Vanilla on the nose try some Makers Mark. Subtle as hell but there. A bit of burn but that is what I want in a whiskey. Gonna get a bottle for tomorrow night Warren Haynes Christmas Jam.

Batchin' it this week and it's growler(s) time. :) We don't pay no stinking HI state-can deposit fees.
It's always cool when a trip to town involves a last stop at the brewery -sometimes it just works out.
Southern Cross Double Style Belgian Red Ale
Originally our winter seasonal brew, Hawaiʻi Nui Brewing
Southern Cross is now available year-round. As with our
other beers, Southern Cross is named for something
special here in Hawaiʻi. Since the Southern sky lacks an
easily visible pole star, the vertical axis is commonly used
to mark South. Southern Cross beer is a Belgian-style
Double Red Ale. Big caramel maltiness and light
toffee notes are accented with a subtle citrus character
(jackfruit) from the Belgian yeast strain used to ferment
this beer.

Style: Belgian-Style Double Red
with a Belgian Yeast Strain
Original Gravity: 21° Plato
ABV: 8.3%

Pairings: Heartier dishes such as pork, duck,
or game

... or a frozen pizza. We'll see if I get around to the pizza, this stuff fills me up pretty quick.

Maker's is a wheater and therefore a little too sweet for my tastes. Instead of vanilla, I get candy corn. I don't mind the Maker's 46 as much. It's still pretty sweet, but there's an extra fullness to it. Enjoy your show. ;)

Fair enough evaluation. Join me in the show tomorrow night. :)

Uggg...I got shitfaced last night and can't bear the thought of drinking. I went to a new Mexican joint that had margarita for 1.99. Of course I ordered one but it didn't get to the table until we were almost finished eating. I ordered the damn thing the waitress took the drink orders. Mr Animal even flagged down the manager (twice!!) and complained. So you're wondering how I got drunk on one 1.99 margarita? Well, I was so sad I only got one that Mr Animal took the kids home and took me to my favorite bar. They had a great guy playing the guitar and the place was hopping. Apparently, I tied one on there. I didn't feel drunk at all until after I peed, so weird.

This song reminds me so much of my place. It's a wild and wonderful cross section of people.

Trying to stay warm, working on a fresh box of wine. So far, I've had two big Wonder Woman coffee cups full of wine. I bought some fancy stemless wine glasses but the cheap wine just seems to taste better in my WW coffee cup.

saw this at the store today and had to give it a try.

it is interesting, wouldn't want to polish off a couple glasses of it in one sitting, but definitely a treat
