**Official Blimp Updates**

Any updates on the rally that is supposed to be happening in 10 minutes? Am I to believe this is not happening anymore?

Wind conditions in Elizabeth City do not appear to be any problem. The Airship is IFR capable... obviously our best exposure is in clear skys... but, yes... we can still get their if conditions "go south".

Are the banners there? If not, I won't count on it because FeDEX lost my campaign materials packet and UPS lost our billboard vinyl, which had to be reordered and now our billboard is going to be 2 weeks delayed.

So are the banners there?
 
O.K. So I dont' see how it can fly on the 11th. Patience, I know. But it is better to be direct and honest about this when the world is watching..... You all need to update the blimp website to say: "The banners have not arrived yet. We are anxiously waiting and will update when we have them in hand. The blimp will not fly without the banners. Our blimp doesn't like to be naked."

Our billboard lady told us last week "The vinyl is in the office" when it wasn't.

Will some form of housing be available on the night of the tea party (15th)? I'm willing to be a "runner" for the crew and buy some pizzas for anyone else camping in the hanger...
 
Please Start A Blog

I would encourage Liberty Political Advertising to start a blog. Either get your webmaster to set up an install of WordPress (or something) on the RonPaulBlimp domain or sign up at blogger.com or wordpress.com for free. Updates on the forums are good, but if you have blog then I can subscribe in my RSS reader. Thanks.

We appreciate the offer!!! The Airship's crew has its own coordinator and will make arrangements for their own staff.

BUT... the RonPaulBlimp folks will be operating on a shoestring. We would appreciate support from supporters along the way! You will be able to get a better idea of the itinerary once the flight plan is published (coming, REALLY). If anyone wanted to volunteer for housing, feeding, transporting, etc. the Blimp folks THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

You are paying a webmaster $500/week, what exactly is he doing? I am a web developer too, I offered to help but got no response.

I don't want to come across as being suspicious. I'm really just curious.

How many members of the Liberty Political Advertising staff are Ron Paul Forums members. Have you considered matching names (from the website) with screennames? There's a lot of info that gets posted and its hard to tell if it is just folks who've dug up an answer or somebody from the company.

Currently no one is being paid. All of the Blimp Staff have agreed to accept no pay during the first month of operations.

We appreciate your offer to help and will let you know, in the next several days, if assistance is required. A large number of people volunteered assistance and we are focusing on the launch right now. Again, we do appreciate the offers we have received.

That would be great! We will be publishing the updated information regarding the Blimps flight path and itinerary and we welcome everyone to come see the Blimp. Please keep in mind that LPA cannot coordinate their activities with the campaign or candidate for legal reasons.

Legal issues

Maybe I worry too much, but I see these as potential problems.

1) On the website:

This has the "Ron Paul for President 2008" pic of a blimp. Is it legal for you to have this sort of pic on the blimp in your new status doing for profit political ads? If not, maybe you could sub out this banner with another pic?

2) Tevor and teaparty07.com
Might it not be better for Trevor to recuse himself from teaparty07.com, given his new role in Liberty Political Advertising? This should be easy to do and might be useful anticipating any legal challenges? Are your genius lawyers OK with Trevor's continued involvement with teaparty07.com?

Call Oprah. Have her order up a blimp (or two) up for Obama. This is walking around money for her. Then no one will be able to attack Liberty as a non bona fide ad company set up to benefit one candidate exclusively, even if you just show that you've made the enquiry and attempted such a sale.

Plus, you can then arrange some bodacious "blimp wars" that would be all the rage.

(OK, on this last idea, maybe a little too much coffee).

I work across the Potomac, looking straight into DC (I can see the Kennedy Center and Washington Monument from my window). Will I be able to see the blimp if it takes off on schedule?

They have Lawyers on staff, five if I am correct and I am sure they are well versed on any and all legal issues.
