**OFFICIAL** BASEBALL THREAD

Yes it does. You're right, this situation sucks. We are 7 games up on the Cards and are 5-1 against them head to head this season yet we have to have a play in game against them. Not a fan.
The difference , in the end , between the Orioles , Yankees, Rangers & A's will , probably , be around , 0 to 2 games .... I wish we had played a bit better early , would be a runaway by now ... but, you must admit, it all has been exciting .

Just a bit ago, the Angels lost to the Texas Rangers. This means that the Orioles have now clinched a playoff spot. Regardless of what happens in the last three games, they are going to the postseason. Also, their plane caught on fire as they were heading to Tampa and were forced to make an emergency landing in Jacksonville. Everyone seems to be ok but what a crappy way to find out you have clinched a playoff spot. GO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'S

My A's clinch a spot tonight with win # 92 , have won 4 in a row, we need 2 more. A's, one back of Texas with 2 remaining against Texas, O's one back of the hated Yankees....

A's win again , one more and they are Division winners. First time in the playoffs in 6 years.

A's win it!

For some crazy reason, they didn't open up most of the upper deck seats. People couldn't get tickets to the game.

My A's are Division Champions ! :) , sweet , at one point, down 13 games , lost the first three pitchers in the starting rotation and still got it done . I will celebrate with beer and a donation to Massie !

You must be jacked; that was an amazing stretch run for your boys! Congrats!

I have been an A's fan since I was about 6 , that was a very , very , long time ago.

I was at work , busy as hell first few hours ,finally ,I bring it up , one inning to go , up 12 - 5. One of these days, at least when I retire , I am going to get a sat radio.

I actually know a guy that pitches in y'alls farm system and made a few spot starts this season and last: Graham Godfrey. Although, he's heading to Japan now.

Last time we made the playoffs :) , not a single one of these guys were on the roster.

Tell him I said thanks , if we could have scored about 7 on avg, he may have got some wins , good thing I am not batting , at my age , getting around fast enough to get a change up , could be a challenge :) , I was always a lousy fielder too , but always loved the game , I had to pitch to get to play :) , gave it up at 20. Always follow my team though .

The Amazing A's. That's awesome. I didn't think they had a chance to win the division.

My Giants won the division by 8 games with 94 wins :)

One game playoffs will be Braves vs Cardinals and Orioles vs Rangers. I'm picking Braves and Orioles.

Infield fly rule! All hell breaks out!

Now we know where some of the scab football officials went. ;)
