Well, I was always kind of on the fence about that. I don't have a strong belief one way or the other. It's plausible. What I don't believe is Trump "conversion" to some sort of conservatism. But they all play to their audience.

My theory:

1) The insiders realize that the 24/7 MSM propaganda against Trump isn't working. The real polls are showing Trump pulling way ahead.

3) Decision is made to prosecute Hillary in order to save their own skins...

4) What comes next is the fun part...

Here is my prediction... you heard it here first! Nothing will get done, Hillary wins the Whitehouse, Republicans will use it as a bitching point for their stump speeches during their mid-term reelections, Republicans will take the House and Senate in 2018, and the beat goes on and on... Hillary will lose in 2020 to some GOP puppet, Bill Clinton dies, Hillary dies, they get a fancy library. Chelsea runs for NY senate to fill her mother's old seat, and then my children will have to put up with Clintons in there lifetime too.

As far as I'm concerned, both Hillary and Trump can go fuck themselves with rusty spikes.

Nevertheless, I've decided that I hope Trump wins, for two reasons:

(1) First, just because I'm curious to see (and am looking forward to being entertained by) all the shuck-and-jive excuses his supporters will make for him when he fails to do any of the grandiose things they've deluded themselves into imagining he's going to do ...

(2) Second, because when Trump does fail to do those grandiose things (and even actively betrays those expectations by doing the opposite*), a lot of anti-establishmentarians may finally get it through their heads that the system cannot be successfully challenged (let alone reformed) by playing the system's game on the system's board by the system's rules with pieces the system has deigned to permit us to use ...

If you think this is about "trusting Snowden" then you are totally missing the point. This isn't about trusting people. It's about verifying information. And so far all of Snowden's intel has been spot on and helpful to the cause of freedom. Nobody has yet been able to point to anything that has come from Snowden or Wikileaks or Glen Grenwald or Seymor Hersh that has not turned out to be true. Can the same be said of CNN, BSNBC, ABC News, CBS News or Fox News?

Note that none of Snowden's critics or Assange's critics have ever made a serious claim that the information isn't true. It's just supposedly bad that (maybe) the Russians are behind it. So?

Okay. I can buy that. Yes a Trump victory is better for Assange than a Hillary victory. If nothing else, by helping Trump, Assange moved from Trump's "He's a traitor that should be killed" category to "He's actually quite helpful" category.
