We're heading in to the final stretch with the Constitution Day Money Bomb, and that means it's already time to start figuring out a date and theme for October.

For the date, we're thinking sometime around the weeks of October 5th and the 12th. That gives 3-4 weeks after Constitution Day, and as close to 4 weeks as possible before a November 5th Money Bomb.

For the theme ideally it would be something engaging that will get people motivated, and if possible relevant to something going on now. It helps to have a theme that is easy to create promotional material around. So something that you can picture working well with videos, avatars, graphic ads, quotes etc. - and that people will want to share.

My own personal opinion would also be a theme that ultimately the campaign will be able to adopt and put up a ticker for. Something in the style of "Black THIS Out" - motivating and edgier with an "Us vs. Them" feel but still something the campaign can use. If it's too far outside the message that Rand is campaigning on they probably won't. I will get behind whatever is chosen by the forums... but experience has shown that having a ticker and some campaign adoption is important in making it as big as possible.

Don't be afraid to throw out as many ideas as you can come up with. There isn't a whole lot of time for this part, so hopefully with a bunch of ideas there will be one that we can all come together on soon.

Black this out part 2, Something related to Rand being an eye-doctor, Something targeted at winning Iowa since that is the most relevant caucus right now.

How about "Rand VS the Establishment." Right now there is a huge anti-establishment wave and it pains me that more people don't relate Paul to it. I mean his slogan includes "Defeat the Washington Machine," so we should try to change the narrative on this. Rand may be a builder of bridges... but establishment he is not.

Also, with Rand VS the Establishment theme, I can make a WWF style promo video which would be great fun.

I vote no for October and concentrate on the 5th of November. Time to make it epic again, Remember remember the 5th of November.

That's a good point. We could go straight for a larger promotion of the 5th of November. Having more time and people saving more could be an interesting idea. Having some flashback videos from the past money bomb that raised 7 mill could be gigantic.

I was just thinking about this today. I feel it may be best to focus on November 5th as well.

Black This Out was on Oct 19th. Nov 5th isn't too far from that. It's still in the beginning of the month. I like the idea of spending more time dedicated toward a date that has some real history with the liberty movement, not to mention fundraising power. It's the first date and theme that I would feel some real excitement for.

I would love Black This Out Part 2 even more, but I don't think we'd be able to apply that same theme to Rand's campaign. The media covers him a lot more than his father, so it would look strange for us to complain about it by using this theme again.

When Ron was running, someone suggested a "President Paul" theme, but it was suggested too late to be voted on.
Does a "President Paul" theme sound too cocky until Rand's poll numbers are higher?

I think its cool. You could do several graphics and videos based on how the U.S. would be under a Paul administration.

Hmm, good points by everyone. I can see the argument for skipping October and going hard for November 5th.

It would be exactly 7 weeks between September 17th and November 5th. That puts it right in the middle ground between almost too far apart, but also almost too close together to squeeze one in October. I can see the advantage of running one moneybomb with 7 weeks time than two that were both rushed.

For the theme, I like the ideas of an anti-establishment message to show that Rand is the true anti-establishment candidate that will bring change.

I like the President Paul idea. I've always liked that chant, I use the hashtag #PresidentPaul, and I like when Rand begins statements with "As President" or "When I am President" instead of "If". I also use that in the money bomb graphics and posts. Plus November 5th will be almost exactly one year before the general election.

Black THIS Out Part II would be fun. But I agree that it's not a full on blackout in the way Ron had. I guess it depends on how much time he gets in this debate, and how they cover him afterwards. He does get invited to give short TV interviews, but on the other hand they still end up leaving him out of the discussion and polls. His campaign speeches aren't being covered live on Fox.

Random thought I just had while editing a new video clip...

The song I used as background music for this video is called "Stand and Fight". I didn't even realize until after I had chosen to use it.

Rand's big money bomb when he was running for Senate was KentuckyFight.com, and he ended up supporting it.

Something like "Stand and Fight" could incorporate the Rand vs The Establishment message.

Emphasize that he is not afraid to stand up and fight the establishment, the NSA, the IRS, the Fed, Trump etc. There should be enough videos and quotes and stuff to make promo material proving that point.

Also the message that although his numbers are low right now, and some people want him out of the race, he will not back down and go away and is making his stand for the long haul.

Plus it would be somewhat similiar to the #StandWithRand slogan so it maintains some brand identity, and serves as a call to action to supporters to #StandAndFight with Rand.

November 5th is cool. It only seems too far but take a look at Constitution Day Moneybomb. We still didnt contacted all Rand Paul friendly Facebook groups. We didnt contacted (almost) any websites, blogs, youtube posters, podcasts etc. We still didnt send press releases. We got 5 more days and we will not manage to contact them all and do it all. Enthusiasm of 2008 is gone and it means that we need to put a lot more effort in it to achieve same results.

I will be careful what I say here. My mind is analytical, systematic, likes plans, assignments, tasks and order. I am INTJ and I often dont explain my positions and plans well. I am a "Numbers guy". I am also blunt. I am not "mellow" when it comes to working... and I know that I annoy people with my posts, but everything I post is posted with best intentions. With that being said:

1) Team.
For current moneybomb: because we didnt have manpower and time to do above mentioned things, by my estimate we will not reach our maximum audience.

How to improve and avoid it?

More people that work on Moneybomb are needed. How to get them involved? My suggestion is to turn to Facebook and focus our energy there. There should be our main operation centar. There are a lot more people there and this place is not engaging (only few people). If it is here we cant bring new people in because they would have to register and then wait to get approved and even then they wouldnt have full functionality... It would be too much hassle for them. It will be a lot easier just to move main thing over to one of our Facebook groups and keep this place because we are used to it (honestly for me because of sentimental reasons are only ones. there is no other advantage).

2) Donors, pledges, engagement & promotion

Statistics for power of posts:
1x without pictures, videos or links
1.5x with a picture
2x picture and link
3-10x video&link (videos shorter than 30 sec.)
We need:
100-10.000x wow factor (app that blacks people eyes and others like it)

We need that "wow factor" again. People make homemade campaign signs... lets make homemade apps. They ddont have to look professional and smooth. I am not a programmer and I dont know what is doable and what is not. Calculate time, effort and resources that you need to put in our wow factor and tell us what can you do (if anyting). I will ask and you answer is it doable:

We need huge amount of people changing their avatars with blacked out pictures. Can we have it? where is that script? It doesnt matter if theme is something different we can still use it. It will be cool.

Can we make and send a gif "Smasher Of The Machine" (hammer smashing machine and/or Rands opponents) to anyone who invites more than x amount people into Moneybomb event?

Jackie Moon had app idea. Can it be done?

Imagine humongous picture on a web page (or somewhere else). On one side are establishment candidates, FED, IRS, Machine... on the other Rand alone. Every time someone completes action (invites people to event, pledges, tunderclap...anything) that persons avatar appears on Rands side... army amassing. Something like:
SG24XL.jpg

Braveheart-Ani.gif
(but charging towards opponents.)

Or just let people add them selfs on that battlefield...

Week before you post that pictureand enable people to post them selfs you start campaign "Where you there?"...On the battlefield...

I dont know. Programmers are smart guys they can come up with something if they decide to do it.

Hmm, I made this graphic a week ago but just went to post it today and noticed that it also has "Stand and Fight".

Not sure if it's just a coincidence, or if for some reason I subconsciously chose that song for the video, and this quote about the Constitution to use, and bolded the words "Stand" and "Fight", lol. I've been using #StandWithRand a lot so maybe it was in my head.

The more I think about it I kinda like it though. There would be material to create videos and graphics around a theme like that. And I think with the right promo stuff it could be made in to something that is motivating.

It has a bit of toughness and edge to it. We could do something like the Kentucky Fight one and make stuff like carlton suggested as if it were a Boxing/UFC type fight. Rand as the tough underdog, the guy that represents the average American vs. the big money establishment, NSA, Obama, tax code, Trump, Hillary.

Or use "Stand and Fight" as a battle rallying cry and make material using things like this scene of the Patriot...

For the Constitution Day video I was just looking for any quotes where he mentions the Constitution, but I also wanted ones where he's speaking firmly and with emotion. When he does that he sounds great and is pretty motivating... at least to me. People like seeing him take a stand and be a fighter.

When he was doing that during his filibusters people here and even non supporters across the country were fired up. And whatever you think about the strategy of going after Trump in the debate, he was the first and only one to take a stand and confront him in person. When it happened live people erupted here and were cheering him on. Also when he stood up to Christie and yelled "Get a Warrant!"

So there should be more quotes and video clips to choose from that don't need to mention the Constitution but do show him fighting.

I mentioned it before, but one important part of choosing a theme is being able to create ads for it that people want to share. It would be tough to just keep Tweeting and posting on Facebook generic "Join the Constitution Day Money Bomb" messages and graphics.

Anyone that's already following and knows about it would get turned off after awhile. They have to be given something new that has more than just the name and date... like a relevant quote that they want to share. That's why I've tried to make graphics be more like campaign ads for Rand - they just all happen to be about the Constitution and include the money bomb logo.

FYI, this is something the campaign put out a couple hours ago over facebook. "Media Blackout"

The countdown is on until the next Republican Presidential Primary Debate next Wednesday . . .
While our national press pushes fake conservatives, I'm afraid they're doing everything possible to stamp out my message of liberty.
In fact, with less than five minutes during the last two-hour Republican Presidential debate, I had less speaking time than any other candidate in the field!
That's why I'm asking for your help to go around our national media and straight to the American people by helping me reserve airtime for my campaign's brand-new TV ad.
Will you agree to a generous contribution of $20.16 or more today to help me put this ad on air in key presidential primary states: https://secure.randpaul.com/?media-blackout&sr=913fb1a
With $18.3 TRILLION in national debt and new assaults on the Bill of Rights seemingly every week, our country can't afford any more of the status quo.
The good news is, with Hillary Clinton's campaign flailing, you and I have the best opportunity in years to elect a candidate to the White House who will work to destroy the very foundations of the Washington Machine.
We need a candidate who's prepared to use a sledgehammer. Not a chisel.
That's why I believe my candidacy strikes fear in the hearts of both the political establishment and the national media.
Unlike others who use blustery rhetoric to cover up Big Government records, I've taken on the Washington Machine – and won.
Just this year, you and I stopped reauthorization of Section 215 of the so-called "PATRIOT Act," which enabled the NSA's Fourth Amendment-shredding domestic spying programs.
In the wake of undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood abortionists killing unborn babies, dismembering them and selling them off for profit, we exposed every Planned Parenthood ally in the U.S. Senate with a public, roll-call vote on taxpayer funding.
My campaign has posted jaw-dropping poll numbers showing me leading Hillary Clinton in five states President Obama won in 2008 and 2012.
Even with Hillary Clinton's ongoing scandals, I'm the only candidate who can say that!
Is it any wonder our media is pushing fool's gold on the American people – while the establishment's number-one pick tries to figure out how to turn his access to deep pockets into actual support?
My 14.5% Fair and Flat Tax Plan will blow up the tax code and return $2 TRILLION to the American people and create 1.4 million new jobs in the process. It is by far the best tax plan out there.
My plans to impose term limits on career Washington, D.C. politicians and actually force Congress to read the bills they vote on are critical steps to actually reforming Congress.
My Audit the Fed bill to finally expose corruption, cronyism and secrecy in our nation's out-of-control secret bank is critical to stopping never-ending boom-bust economic cycles that rob so many Americans blind.
My pledges to repeal 100% of ObamaCare and protect the ENTIRE Bill of Rights are critical to ensuring every American the freedom and prosperity that should be their birthright.
But it's my track-record of delivering on the promises I make that has so many scared stiff . . .
So I'm counting on your action right away.
I'm counting on you to help me pay for the TV airtime the media will never give me in a debate.
Help me pay for the TV ads it will take to bring my message straight to the American people.
Please agree to your most generous gift of $20.16 or more TODAY:

Yeah, the banner on the top of the website and Facebook page could be something like the Kentucky Fight one with like "It's time to Stand And Fight".

Possible promo graphic ads could be like a fight comparison card, with Rand on one side and a different oppenent with a list of facts or issues they differ on.

83nYFoU.jpg

The debates are already marketed the way a fight is with the voiceover, music and graphics they use.

Hmm...

I strongly suggest that we pick a name that was used in 2008 and 2012 for Ron.

We will have 80% of promotional material done. Just instead of Rons we put Rands picture, webpage and year. Same goes with videos. We can recycle EVERYTHING!!!!!!

I was so stupid that I didnt even think about it (could have done it with tcurrent-Constitution Day moneybomb):

Once the end of quarter push is over we need to choose something and go with it immediately. We can't afford to him ham around while promotion time dwindles away. If we went with your suggestion above, then that means either Black This Out or November 5th should be chosen. Black This Out was Oct 19th, which isn't a lot of time to promote (unless we change the date), although if CNBC tries to bar Rand from the debate because of low polling then choosing this theme could really play in our favor. November 5th leaves some more promotion time though. I personally like the Black This Out theme more. The black bars across the eyes in Facebook avatars provides for some great mass advertising
