Obamacare Debate Live on CSPAN

^yeah, I'm glad he actually talked about what the people want. It was the first time yet tonight, i think.

edit: ha, this guy who just went wants the bill to be passed so it can be a historical event. He wants to be remembered haha.

Arguing against this thing is prime real estate. You think they'd put Ron on priority over the rest of them?

Exactly. Plus the republicans want this thing to pass. Don't fool yourselves, they are relishing the idea. If they really wanted to kill it, they and the fake conservative talking heads would be talking about how this is a bailout for the insurance companies and how the insurance companies and pharm companies helped write the legislation. But they aren't. Rush and Hannity et all instead kept saying how this would kill the insurance companies. Lies. Both parties want this damn bill to pass.

Actually, they did. I heard that argument made here today, on the floor and on the record.

Last speaker hit the nail on the head - "this has never been about health care. It has always been about big government."

I don't think the Americans out there that want this passed truly realize that they will be required to purchase health care from the same insurance companies they are railing against. What will that cost per month? They aren't telling us because they don't know.

Or maybe they are against it and just use different arguments.

When they made car insurance the Law, the price doubled immediately.
Expect the same.

The republicans could have killed the bill in committee.

Very good, when it is too late. How about the weeks up to this? I haven't heard a peep about this being an insurance company bailout from the usual suspects or how this bill was written by the pharmaceutical and insurance special interests....Ya know, something that would turn off both republican and democrat voters.

Same ol' same ol'. When it gets down to the wire, some truths come to light.

Too little and too late -par for the course.

Always after the fact and giving the impression they've been telling the whole truth for a year. Just that bit of truth that will send the herd the other way, and then quickly forgotten.

Bunkloco

I have heard that point made several times, by different people.
And the Dems say it is Insurance interests that are behind the opposition.

He said she said bullshit.
TPTB want socialism. Bottom line.

back, picked up a 4 pack of Sam Adams Imperial White. I know before the night is over I'm gonna need a drink.

Damn you all who live in states that allow alcohol sales on Sundays. I have just 3 16oz. Miller High Life beers that have to last me through the vote.

And they're hot. They've been in my truck all day.

EDIT: Screw it, I'll open the first one now. I'm not sure if drinking beer on Sundays is an abomination in the eyes of God, but I'll probably burn in hell for drinking them unchilled.
