I'm not sure why y'all thought it was necessary to take a thinly-disguised shot at Ron in order to make Rand look good here (it wasn't).
That said, my comment on the video: Obama just told the worst joke since W went looking for the wmd's under the table that one year (2004, maybe?)
Literally no one took shots at Ron. Saying "Ron wasn't enough of a threat to warrant discussion at the Correspondence Farce," isn't a hit. It's a fact, and it has to do with a litany of things, namely the differing ambitions of each Paul, and the positions they hold. Rand has a more serious political tone and uses politically careful words and tone. Ron was bombastic, and made biting, deep, and broad comments without concern for his political career. He was an educator, and played the role excellently. Rand is running to win elections; really important ones. That's not taking a shot at either man. It is stating fact.
This is the first 'shot at Ron' I've seen in this thread. The others simply stated that Rand is getting this free publicity, without even trying to analyze whether because of differing styles or whether because we've come too far to be ignored any longer.
And analyzing whether because of differing styles is a shot at Ron...how?
Considerably more than anything else I've seen in this thread, imho.
I certainly didn't mean it as a shot at Ron. In fact, it's the opposite. Ron was at least as adept as Rand at choosing words thoughtfully. In his writing, every word mattered and every sentence was structured specifically to invoke a certain thought or feeling. Ron has been a VERY deliberate politician, and human being. He pursued a path, and has been excellent at it. If it weren't for him running the kind of campaigns he did, Rand wouldn't even register on Kentucky's radar, let alone the entire world's.
I think some of you have your panties in to much of a bunch. He's telling jokes and taking stabs at all the who's who's in DC. Be glad that Rand made that list.
???? That monologue should result in another 2-3% drop in approval ratings for the President.
