Obama Joker flyers appear in Nashville

John,

One of our liberty oriented supporters wore that t-shirt at our Nashville GOP election. I couldn't help but say to him "man you're a brave soul wearing that in here!" ha ha ha.

The question to ask yourself is, who is Batman or Batwoman?

The destruction of the strawman has started, which is all part of the greater planned destruction. So, who will be "The One"... the planned savior, who will carry with them the real iron fist?

It made the news because Obama is painted like the Joker. The Joker was a very popular movie character last year. The media is fucking retarded.

Most importantly, it's not going to sway anybody's opinion on the right or left (or wherever else they are). Therefore, I don't think it accomplishes anything.

Wrong. It caused a controversy, has fomented discussion, forced the left to bring out all the art critics and deconstructionists to divine the meaning of the poster (confusing its rather straightforward and simple message). It's becoming its own meme now, and we're better off for it.

Anything that denigrates the opposition. As I posted on my Facebook page:

From Alinsky:

RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

RULE 6: "A good tactic is one your people enjoy." They'll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They're doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.

That's all this is about. It confuses them, makes their blood boil and gets them to wail irrationally.

I think your tactic is terrible. I live in a hippy town, I know MANY Obama supporters. Most of them are either very wary of him or have completely given up on him alltogether.

We shouldn't ridicule, we should be there to pick up the people that fall off the bandwagon. (I'm really tired, was trying to make a better analogy there)

And it might just be where I live, but there are a lot of "liberals" talking about revolution even today. Trust me, there aren't as many Obamabots as you think.

Um, I'm serious, I think it doesn't make any sense. The joker was not a socialist. he wasn't anything really. Is Obama joking about implementing socialism? I don't think so.

The joker was a nihilist it seemed. But at the same time, he broke his professed logic towards the end of the movie when the people on the barges did not blow each other up.

On a related note, I didn't agree with the alternative Batman provides at the end of the movie when he is hunted by the police. It only perpetuated ignorance of the people. It does expose the conflict of humanism vs. truth though.

You bring up an interesting point. When we think of "liberals" here I imagine we think too much of the hardcore crowd on liberal political blogs/forums...but as you're suggesting, the majority probably aren't anything like the ones who live and breathe Obama or the Democratic Party so much that they spend their time posting about them on the Internet.

Seriously, if people from all sides of the political spectrum just thought about it for a second, they'd realize that all of our biggest problems are a direct result of letting Washington, D.C. dictate a "one size fits all" centralized policy. It'd be nice if ordinary Americans from all the major factions just agreed to disagree and decentralize power already...but of course, giving up their power over people is the one and only solution that our overlords in the political establishment will never willingly accept. :-/
