Snippets from the article...I like hearing about the snow

"Outside the meeting, a raucous and enthusiastic crowd of Ron Paul supporters handed out leaflets.
Mr. Quatrano said the party tried to consolidate the caucuses this year. He said they used to be “salt and peppered” over the first two and a half months of the year. The change in schedule forced some caucuses in rural areas to consolidate in a central location. “It forced a lot of people to travel, and a lot of people couldn’t make it. That might have negated a little bit of turnout.”

Mr. Quatrano said other factors could affect turnout, which was about 5,500 in 2008. “Now you’ve got to factor all in the intensity and the attention that’s going on right now, and then, on top of that, you’ve got to factor in we’re supposed to get a snowstorm tomorrow, anywhere from 2 to 4 inches to 10 inches — or no snow — across the state. There are so many factors now. I was thinking maybe 5,000 to 6,000, but it depends on this storm now.”

Romney Makes His Case in Maine, Touting His New England Roots? lol good luck with that one.

I'm all for our supporters respectfully and enthusiastically being at the opposition event, but to me this only makes sense when we're sure we're winning. Couldn't these folks be knocking on doors or taking some marching orders from the campaign? I know our whole movement will always be heavily grassroots and that has its pluses, but I just hope we're not missing bigger opportunities to turn support into votes. Nevertheless, I'm sure they enjoyed blowing off some steam at the Romney event!

Standing outside and trying to distribute literature is hardly "crashing" the event.

More Media spin from the Slimes

People asked for bad weather in IA and NH thinking that Paul folks would be more willing to show up. Maybe that will happen in ME. We had good weather in NH. Plus, college is happening in ME unlike NH or IA so that should help. I guess we will know in a couple of weeks or so when the caucuses finish in ME.

"After the event, Ann Roberts of Alfred, Me., said she liked what she saw. “I am so impressed with him,” she said. “He is head and shoulder above Gingrich and Romney. I want him to make the United States as successful as he’s made himself and his family.”

Wait, so Ann thinks Romney is head and shoulder above Romney? That's hilarious. I guess she means this year's Romney is better than the last incarnation of Romney. :p

The way I understand it is that they were not crashing. Paul was expected there within an hour.

Bad weather in SC hurt both Paul and Romney.

sigh...I hope Ron Paul people in Maine aren't just holding signs...I hope they have an actual plan to turn out high voting numbers...

In all fairness, that was the OP's word. It doesn't appear in the article, as far as I can see.
