During his first press conference as Commander-in-Chief, Biden agreed that the filibuster is a relic of the Jim Crow era and supported “having an open mind about dealing with certain things that are just elemental to the functioning of our democracy.”
In a move which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) dubbed a cynical ploy for unchecked power, many Democratic Senators and activists are calling the filibuster ― which allows for Senators in the minority to make their voices heard by extending debate ― a racist institution.
As Senators Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) threaten Democratic hopes to quash the filibuster, activists like Al Sharpton are planning to accuse them of “supporting racism.”
Now, it is true that the filibuster was once used by segregationists like Strom Thurmond, Robert Byrd, and J. William Fulbright to delay votes on racial integration. However, modern-day Democrats apparently forget that their Commander-in-Chief brushed shoulders with many of these Jim Crow Senators during his four decades in the upper chamber of Congress.

So, addlepated Joe is heading to Buffalo to ease the suffering of the American people and the people of Buffalo.
Funny...none of them traveled to Brooklyn to ease the pain and suffering after a black racist opened fire in a subway train last month.
I don't recall any of them showing up in Waukesha, Wisconsin either.
But never mind that...I wouldn't want that fool showing up in my town if something like this happened anyway.
Point of this is: word is leaking out about what the speech he plans to give contains...now, nobody knows for sure, could just be bullshit, but the gist of it is he plans to double down on his previous remarks declaring white people to be the greatest threat to the US there is.
They are an "existential" threat...as a people and any organization they support.
We'll see...but if he does, be aware, that's now, no bullshit, genocide talk. Being as white as cottage cheese himself, I fail to see how he would excuse himself from his own fatwa, but logic and consistency has no place in Klown World.
If he does, then this is the final intolerable act.

WASHINGTON (AP) — When Joe Biden talks about his decision to run against President Donald Trump in 2020, the story always starts with Charlottesville. He says it was the men with torches shouting bigoted slogans that drove him to join what he calls the “battle for the soul of America."
Now Biden is facing the latest deadly manifestation of hatred after a white supremacist targeted Black people with an assault rifle at a supermarket in Buffalo, the most lethal racist attack since he took office.
The president and first lady Jill Biden are to visit the city on Tuesday.
Biden was the first president to specifically address white supremacy in an inaugural speech, calling it “domestic terrorism that we must confront." However, such beliefs remain an entrenched threat at a time when his administration has been preoccupied with crises involving the pandemic, inflation and the war in Ukraine.
“It’s important for him to show up for the families and the community and express his condolences,” said Derrick Johnson, the president of the NAACP. “But we’re more concerned with preventing this from happening in the future.”
It's unclear how Biden will try to do that. Proposals for new gun restrictions have routinely been blocked by Republicans, and the racism that was spouted in Charlottesville, Virginia, appears to have only spread in the five years since.

President Joe Biden connected the racist mass shooting in Buffalo on Saturday to the protests of Trump supporters on January 6.
The president cited January 6th riots after calling all Americans to “reject white supremacy” because they were making the country look bad.
“We can’t allow them to distort America. The real America,” Biden said, referring to the white supremacists. “We can’t allow them to destroy the soul of the nation.”
Biden then immediately referred to January 6th.
“As president of the United States, I travel the world all the time. And other nations ask me, heads of state in other countries ask me, what’s going on? What in God’s name happened on January 6th? What happened in Buffalo,” Biden said.
The president demanded that Americans condemn white supremacy, insisting that silence about the issue was “compliance.”
“We have to refuse to live in a country where black people going about a weekly grocery shopping can be gunned down by weapons of war, deployed in a racist cause,” he said.
Biden indicated that white supremacists were acting out of a type of misguided patriotism.
“Look, the American experiment in democracy is in a danger like it hasn’t been in my lifetime. It’s in danger this hour,” he said. “Hate and fear are being given too much oxygen by those who pretend to love America. But who don’t understand America.”
The president also proposed doing more to prevent evil content from spreading on the Internet.
“We can address the relentless exploitation of the Internet to recruit and mobilize terrorism,” he said. “We just need to have the courage to do that. To stand up.”

I think the media has been saving up what to write when they finally get the "white supremacist shooter". I saw dozens of articles basically saying "Don't Vote for Republican White Supremacists" hours after it happened.
The media is losing their minds over this.

It fits their narrative. They've been pushing that narrative for decades. So, any time they find a story that seems to neatly fit the narrative, they run with it. Just like they ignore the myriad of stories that don't fit the narrative.
There doesn't even need to be some nefarious master scheme about it. It's like a sugar rush when you see something that fits what you want to believe. It happens on the right, too, BTW. Humans are narrative-based beings. It's very easy to minimize conflicting data and maximize supporting data, in any matter.
The big issue here is that the corporate press is pretty much in lockstep with their narrative of the world. So, they try to spread that narrative as far as they can. And anyone who doubts the narrative becomes an enemy.

I agree, I'm not a conspiracy guy. This was just perfect for the main media. I'm pretty sure this is the first "white-supremacist" shooter. There's been several false alarms where they thought the shooter was a white supremacist and they started jumping on it but then it turned out not to be true. This was golden for them.
And yeah, Fox news would do the same thing, it's just that Fox is outnumbered 50 to 1.
All that being said the coverage is dying down, I think it may be because the public is seeing thru the BS. The public is more worried about day to day things like inflation. And a cratering stock market followed by massive job losses.
