Boys get your vacuum sealer ready and start diggin'

...eliminating large capacity magazines
regardless of date of manufacture...

Here's the full text of the relevant section of Governor Cuomo's written press release:

...any sale in New York State between private parties be subject to the same background checks...
...enhancing penalties for those who illegally buy guns...

Cuomo:
No one hunts with an assault rifle.
No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer.

rough quote:
Gun violence has been on a rampage.

Its enough
It has been enough

We need a gun policy that is reasonable balanced and measured.

We respect hunters and sportsmen.

It is about ending the unnecessary risk of high capicity assult rifles.

We have a 7 point agenda:

Toughest assault weapon ban in nation

Private sale loophole

Ban high cap mags

Tougher penalties on school grounds and gang violence.

Keep guns away from the mentally ill

Ban internet sales

Something about a state check on all ammo purchases?

CUOMO SPEAKING NOW

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s 2013 State of the State address is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Cuomo, aides say, will flesh out plans to close many of the loopholes in New York State’s assault-weapons ban and make it one of the country’s most restrictive and comprehensive laws on assault weapons.

YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A deal to give New York one of the toughest gun control laws in the nation is being negotiated by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who, sources said Tuesday, is hoping to announce the plan Wednesday during his State of the State speech in Albany.

Cuomo hopes to jump-start the 2013 legislative session with a big deal that could dramatically alter gun control laws across the state.

Highly placed sources told CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer that Cuomo is negotiating with Assembly and Senate leaders for a package of gun control laws that would be a dramatic response to the gun violence besetting the nation, including the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

“It’s a very divisive topic,” Cuomo said on Wednesday. “There’s a lot of energy on both sides. Some people are vehemently against’ some people think we’re out of our minds for not passing it.”

Sources told Kramer the governor and lawmakers are negotiating furiously in the hope that Cuomo can announce a deal during his speech Wednesday.

Sources said the package is expected to include:

* New restrictions on assault weapons
* Stiffer penalties for using a gun to commit a crime
* New limits on the number of bullets in a gun magazine

The rotten apple just got a new worm in its core. Obviously the answer to crazy criminals with guns is to make the law tougher on people who just want to defend themselves.

Logic be damned when it comes to guns.

Let's see... The majority of New York gun owners have already proved their stupidity last August & November by overwhelmingly supporting, nominating and voting for two candidates with anti-gun records like Obama and Romney, both of whom have supported bans on assault weapons. Romney even signed into law a ban on assault weapons and the NY gun owners and the rest of the country's gun owners rewarded him for that with the Republican nomination, millions of dollars in contributions, their support and votes. Go figure.

So since the New York gun owners overwhelmingly supported two gun grabbers, they shouldn't cry when someone gets to restrict their access to assault weapons.

You can blame the media and the NRA for that. Most people think the NRA would not endorse a gun control candidate and had no idea of Romney's record on gun control.

There were a few us in NY that did.

Blank Presidential selection 50,145
Gary Johnson 47,092
Virgil Goode 6,270
Write-in's 9,022 (I wonder how many of those were for Ron Paul).

compared to Florida

Johnson / Gray 44,726
Goode, / Clymer 2,607

So if you look at the numbers more people voted for the gun grabbers in your state of Florida than here in NY.

Florida
Obama / Biden 4,237,756
Romney / Ryan 4,163,447

NY
Obama / Biden 4,471,871
Romney / Ryan 2,485,432

I feel like im getting backed into a corner

You know what they say about cornered animals..

I hate these people.

They're not gonna take it...they are going to make it a liability....fuck these people their families if they make me put my gorilla suit on...

True, but Florida has a Republican pro-gun governor who will veto any anti-gun trash that lands on his desk.

So what are New Yorkers likely to do, go on a protest outside the Capital's congress.

The thought of New Yorkers getting off their asses and protesting more liberty-raping measures makes me want to go laugh and cry at the same time.

The officers who put their lives on the line to make it to the doughnut shop in time for the buy a dozen get a dozen free special.

Gimme a break, police officers have no obligation to protect anyone and, even if they wanted to protect you, can't. An officer isn't going to magically teleport into your home when someone is robbing, raping, or killing you. Ain't gonna happen, no matter how hard you wish it. I always wish myself that people would finally take their own safety seriously and arm themselves, but, just like someone wishing for magic police protection, it just ain't gonna happen. Stupid doublespeak like this always pisses me off more than just saying "We're gonna take your guns". Stop dancing around the issue like hot coals and just admit you don't trust your fellow man with guns. At least be honest with us here instead of spoon-feeding us some bullshit about officer safety.
