Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) was invited to the NRA's Celebration of American Values event but did not respond to our invitation. If Rep. Paul had contacted NRA prior to the event, every effort would have been made to accommodate his appearance. When the NRA has another candidate forum, we would hope that Rep. Paul would participate in person or via videotaped message.

What's up with this? How come the campaign has not taken part in this?

We've gone through this a long time ago, the campaign dropped the ball big time. No use arguing over it now though.

The NRA sucks, they give in way to much to gun control lobbyists. I am a Gun Owners of America (GOA) supporter myself.

I'll give the NRA credit for all the awesome non-political work they do, but when it comes to politics I'm gonna have to go with GoA. The NRA did everything they could to kill the DC gun ban lawsuit. All the NRA has over the GoA is the mass to flood lawyers into an area, like they did with the post-Katrina with the illegal gun seizures there. Still, they're way too willing to comprimise. They're dominated by "law and order" (no pun intended) conservatives who will almost always side with the police (unless they're messing with guns). Hardly a bunch of civil libertarians.

At one point in time the NRA stood for protecting our second amendment rights, but of late, they've more and more morphed into the "National Rifle Agency", instead of the "National Rifle Association". After hearing quite a number of things, a person that I know is wanting to revoke his membership to the NRA, and instead hook up with the GOA.

I often wonder if Ron Paul knows the whole truth of the matter, and thus, didn't want anything to do with the NRA.

The Nra sucks and has sold out on many issues. G.O.A. surpassed them 12 years ago.
