NPR: Ron Paul's 'Big Dog' Ad One Of GOP Race's Coolest Commercials

Haha, just cause there can never be enough Hawkeye intro vids. The campaign should get a addy for this thing.

What has the campaign been doing to create ads this time around? They have all been insanely effective. Do they do focus groups or something?

I heard at least one grassroots video maker from last time was hired by the campaign. Maybe more? So that's part of the reason.

I dunno guys, I think that one ad from the 08 campaign was superior:

"He's catchin on, I'm tellin ya!"

Ron Paul is the only candidate in the race who has demonstrated the necessary wisdom, understanding, consistency, AND integrity that we SO DESPERATELY need in a President.
An inspection of his record shows that so many of his predictions have come true that it is obvious he has a superior grasp of things.
It also shows that he has an extremely rare level of integrity, something that no doubt many Obama supporters wish they could claim for their candidate. Fortunately, many of the promises that have not been kept by the current administration will in fact be kept once Dr. Paul takes the office.

If you REALLY like the ad, vote with your wallet!

If you liked this ad - which I do - then why not "vote with your wallet" and prove your support by donating $20.16 to the official campaign...
https://secure.ronpaul2012.com/
(In the amount field, you'll have to click "Other" and type in 20.16 - just a small extra step so they'll hopefully know why you're sending this particular donation.)
Call it sort of an unofficial "Ad-Bomb" if you like...
And by donating $20.16 we're showing the confidence that by this type of savvy "appealing to the Republican masses" advertising, we are confident that we will be RE-electing him in 2016!

I really hated this add at first. I thought the silliness of it is too much. But on reflection, I disagree with myself. I love Spike TV. I am not above the ad. But I realized. This is so absolutely silly, that people are going to watch it.

Sincerely,

Slutter McGee

I agree, that 08' ad was awesome! An interesting story (to me at least). In late 07' when I was still working for Liberty Political Advertising a fellow Ron Paul supporter brought that ad to my attention. We started raising money using LPA and had already called tons of television stations in all the early primary states and had priced and picked ad slots. We were about to purchase pre-game and game slots all over the US during the Superbowl in which to run that ad when we did a follow up consultation with our lawyer to go over the details and found out that the FEC would 100% kick our butts if we did that without including the names of every single donor for the appropriate number of seconds and in a large enough font. Creedence Clearwater Revival was going a different direction politically and didn't want to let us use the song so it just became a real impossibility and we were sad. We refunded everyone their money (at that point we had raised $17,000) over the next few days and that was the end of it.

Glad to see the campaign doing catchy stuff this time around.
