Not being invited to the Fox forum was a great blessing

We are getting much more publicity for not being invited than we ever would have gotten if we were on stage. We are having our alternative event broadcast on TV, and I guarantee you we will get significant news coverage for it. Everyone is piling on Fox and they are being completely embarrassed. Also I guarantee the tonight show booking is a result of the Fox News exclusion.

This shows the importance of picking your spots to complain. Too many people flame anyone who excludes Ron Paul from their analysis or who says anything bad about him. Sometimes that's warranted, but usually its unproductive. You have to pick your spots intelligently.

Kudos for the campaign for recognizing Fox's overreach and pushing this story to the media. They picked the right fight and as a result, rather than a lot of whining that would have been ignored by the media all of the "Ron Paul gets no respect from the Media" stories will be framed around this winning issue for us.

Pick your battles intelligently guys-- It's a great lesson for us all.

Okay, what's the story about the tonight show? 'splain please.

I think you are fooling yourself if you think more undecideds will watch the alternate show than the FOX forum. Being excluded is not a positive.

I don't think so. They are pretending he's a .0001% candidate and they want to portray him as Ralph Nader freak show or something like that when he has MAJOR support.....

Well I think many will take note that the NH GOP withdrew their support because of Paul's exclusion (let's face it, if it had been only Duncan Hunter I don't think there would have been a fuss).

It would be nice to get him in the debate, but he WILL get a lot of attention for being excluded.

The Net effect of our alternative forum + the Media coverage of that forum + The Tonight show bid will be far greater than what we would have gotten from a few minutes of pinched time at the Debate.

My father is a Thompson supporter and a full time Faux News viewer. I haven't talked too much politics with him since a few months ago when we got into a big argument about Ron Paul. He said Paul's foreign policy was too extreme and he couldn't vote for him.

But...last night he told me out of the blue without any prompting from me "It's a disagrace that Ron Paul is being excluded by Fox News in their debate. He's a legitimate candidate with a legitimate point of view that has a lot of support. Fair and Balanced? Hogwash."

Maybe...just maybe I can convert him by Super Tuesday.

I agree this Fox exclusion may turn out to be a blessing. Americans have a strong sense of justice and tend to support underdogs. Many people will become more curious about Ron Paul after the media covered the Fox exclusion. Ron Paul's town hall meeting is being televised in NH, which will be more informative than the Fox forum anyway. Fox would have given him less time and tried to marginalize him. Fox news foolishly exposed themselves, their competitors jumped on it, and the Ron Paul activists were given an opportunity to promote Ron and spread the message of liberty. Also, Fox news will be less inclined to exclude Ron Paul again in future debates after the media and supporter backlash.

That's funny because i'm just about in the same process with my father. Slow and steady does it...he'll come around...
