North Dakota

The bottom line is that Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney have both run far more effective campaigns. Some call ir retail politics. I know I'm going to get flamed for it, but they've just worked harder than Ron has. Neither man does a rally or two and then goes home for a week. Like it or not, they are out there working for votes, not holding mega pep rallies and singing to their own choir.

it just sucks, its frustrating. i just wish people would give ron a chance, and actually listen. but instead people get manipulated by the media, and whoever else. this country makes me sick sometimes

Dude, went thru the same thing on the forums in '08, exact same crap. Loss, after loss, after loss peeps here were going on and on about HEY looks like we might win one! There was so much pie in the sky, it rained blueberry filling for months. Finally after enough losses, the forums all turned to third party run threads. Despite Ron saying over and over he had no intentions of running third party, everyone was convinced he would. Finally McCain was coronated and the dreaded video of Ron withdrawing was posted and it was all over.

Same thing going on here now. Only difference is this time round Ron is doing better as far as numbers go. If our country and Ron had about another 10 years left in them, we would probably have him as President. It is not going to happen in '12 unfortunately. After this election, we will be at such a point of a police state, it will be pretty much game over. Ron will no longer be in the Congress, fighting the good fight.

Basically, break out the tin foil hats and prepare. Its all downhill from here...

It's easy to be "effective" when you have endless millions of free advertising courtesy a state-controlled media.

Santorum's campaign was a media-induced Iowa caucus flare-up, end of story.

Yeah, they worked real hard. how do you figure that one?....gotta admit, the media gave Ron waaaay too much airtime...eh?...and and and, all the bobbleheads on FOX and CNN?...well golly, they just kept propping Ron up and saying good things, and gave him all the debate time...yeah...i can't understand why Ron isn't running away with it, with all the media behind him...yeah...yeah...

Before everyone gives up, are we sure these results are actually right? Fully reported with the Fargo caucus and all?

Were you one of those around here saying "oh don't worry, he has no ground game like we do, he's one and done, he'll never last in the caucus states." Give me a break. Santorum has campaigned tirelessly, town halls, meet and greets. You don't have to like him, I sure don't, but "the media" doesn't explain his sustained success.

What is reason for optimism is that the message of liberty is larger than just one person. It is Ron Paul who personifies the fight right now, but the intellectual discussion for a return to a free society will continue no matter what happens in this election cycle. The message itself has reached a tipping point and the genie cannot be put back in its bottle.

The weird thing is that on the official ND GOP page, the district totals do not add up to the overall totals.

Yeah honestly I am sick of the delegate thing.

But that being said, will see what happens.

the delegate "thing" was always the only hope we ever had of winning this. I'm not sure why so many people are so confused about this. We don't have the numbers to win states. We just dont.

Paul is not seriously in this to win this- he would have flip flopped on his foreign policy, pandered for votes, and actually talked about the POTUS in his post-primary speeches.

To get all furious that Paul doesn't finish 1st is setting yourself up for insanity.

I'm perfectly happy taking away the fact that Paul's movement has grown waaay greater than Romney's in every damn state.

It's grown by such leaps and bounds in 4 years and it will continue to grow 4 years from now, and 4 years after that, and we'll win eventually... this is just an incredible step in the right direction for the CAUSE OF LIBERTY, not just for the POTUS.

This entire movement should remember to support the other people running for office with similar beliefs (and for GOD SAKE run yourselves, FOR ANYTHING!) Together we'll infiltrate the party and take it over from within, that's how we spread the cause and that's how we win. That's what this is all about, and Ron Paul is proving that the voters, AFTER DECADES OF NEGLECT, are finally coming his (and our) way. As time goes on they will continue to come our way and eventually we will win.

I'm sorry its not going to be in 2012.
But Ron's still got a very solid shot if the convention stays open, so i'll gladly take the 2nd and 3rd places as they will insure that he's a force to be reckoned with in Tampa.

There's no reason to be shamed for this thinking (or infracted), and it's better than setting yourself up for such a great disappointment.

Always look at the bigger picture...

How many times did Rick and Mitt go to a state for a day, and then return home for 3 or 4 days at a time? Get back to me when you figure out the answer.

Hmm, the numbers on the Nebraska GOP page are different than those reported on Google and CNN.

Right now: Rick Santorum 2,803; 37.7%

Ron Paul 2,191, 29.5%

The CNN and Google results have Ron Paul with 2,101 but Santorum with 3,075.

One would think that the CNN ones are just more up to date, but Ron Paul's #s are higher than the updated CNN/Google ones. What's going on?
