North Dakota's House of Representatives has passed a bill effectively outlawing abortion.

The House voted 51-41 this afternoon to declare that a fertilized egg has all the rights of any person.

That means a fetus could not be legally aborted without the procedure being considered murder.

This thread is not for the purpose of discussing abortion. It is to discuss North Dakota's decision to make law in their state and how it relates to current federal law.

If they want to do that, then I think it's fine. If someone wants to have an abortion, then go to another state that doesn't criminalize it. If you can't travel, then that sucks, I guess.

I suppose use birth control then.

Kudos to North Dakota.

I assume this will end up in the Supreme Court. Do pro-lifers have the votes to overturn Roe-v-Wade? Because if they don’t currently, they certainly won’t after any potential Obama court appointments.
