North Carolina Politics and Historical Events

Politicians love to have their picture taken during historical events and they get really upset when you don’t invite them, especially when mainstream media cameras are there! Even if they don’t show up, they like to say they were asked to attend. This is the first time in political history that a blimp had been used. I am sure that the Guinness Book of World Records has been contacted to insure this event meets all their documentation requirements. These North Carolina politicians are going to be really pissed-off if their not invited.

I would suggest local public figures be invited to the launch for political purposes. A photograph should be taken of them in front of the Ron Paul Blimp with Trevor Lyman, Elijah Lynn, the blimp Captain, and a few other key members on this project. The lettering on the blimp should be clearly visible in the photograph. Otherwise their going to get really upset down the road. The media team may already be aware of this... I sure hope so.

We don’t want to isolate ourselves going forward by being politically inconsiderate. A simple email or phone contact inviting them to this historic photo opportunity would be very, very wise. Once their contacted, a note detailing when the contact was made would be placed in a folder for future reference. This will serve as proof that they had been contacted for this event. Since this is a political campaign, all bases need to be covered.

Here is the short list of key local political figures I came up with. If you can think of anyone to add or suggestions, please post on this thread.

An interesting historic fact that may tie in well with our Boston Harbor Tea Party 07.

The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. Ron Paul became a Republican Congressman in 1976, two hundred hears later! Interesting little factoid.

Excellent Idea! Can we get confirmation this has been looked at by the blimp people?

I had sent an email to a member of the blimp team. Their so busy I'm not sure if their going to have time to read it. We'll see.

If some of these people are not invited, there are going to be some really pissed-off local politicians!

Not saying it's not possible, but I doubt you'll get any support out of Linda Daves. If you read some of her writings on NCGOP.org you'd be disgusted. She's another one that believes Bush should never be criticized and is some sort of superhuman.

The point is that they were invited. We don't want "blowback" if you know what I mean.

People have already scrutinized the fact that this new company is for profit and will continue after this project is over....wouldn't it bring this whole subject back up if this political advertising company is running around meeting with potential clients, getting pics made, and forming networks....etc....I believe the media is more important than local politicians.

Def. a good idea. I think if thats the case then the NC Libertarian party definitely needs an invite too. Only thing - charles foster isnt the mayor anymore, its Steve Atkinson.

These local politicians are NOT part of the Ron Paul Campaign!

There may be political "blowback" if their not at least invited to this historic event. Remember that it has nothing to do with Ron Paul, it's the first time in history that a blimp has been used for a political campaign.

This event will go into the Guinness Book of World Records.

It's a first ever historical event and should be seen in that context.

Any and all governors should be invited for sure...press across the state will report on it, but local mayors etc I am not keen on unless it is very large cities only.

of course local mayors should be invited! This is all happening within their jurisdiction!
