NOBP: No One But Paul
WIRP: Write-in Ron Paul

I thought it might be a good idea to get a heads-up on forging ahead with the NOBP concept, at least a precautionary measure. So with that I thought about creating signs (of course). Thus, following my prior sign ideas for operation “Run with Ron Paul”, viewable at: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?344793-Run-for-Ron-Paul&p=3988250&viewfull=1#post3988250 here is where I am at now:

Don't write in Ron Paul, those votes are never counted... if enough people vote third party, and if the Libertarian Party breaks 1%, it'll show the national media how many Americans are truly getting fed up with the two-party system. It'll speak far more volume than a simple write-in.

Blah, utter hogwash!

No, the votes are counted, just not in all states, but are so in most states. Regardless, such votes are counted, be it directly or indirectly. For example, say that out of 102,750 individuals that were tallied as actually showing up and voting within a district the following numbers were accounted:

12,250 mark Barry Soetoro (Obama)
10,000 mark Mitt Romney
5,000 mark Gary Johnson
75,000 mark other or otherwise write-in “Ron Paul”
500 mark none of the above or otherwise nobody

So, in accordance with your notion, the state elections committee would have to report by those numbers that only 27,750 votes were cast by 102,750 participating voters. Thus, people that are at least paying attention are going to say, well now, hold the phone, what exactly happened to those other 75,000 votes? At which time they will have to explain that they were attributed to uncountable Ron Paul write-ins.

I realize that the figures I used are a bit extreme, nonetheless, it serves to prove my point; as it matters not if the actual sum is the lesser of 5,000 or the greater of 75,000, an impact is still to be realized, however small.

i keep reminding people that the presidential election at our polling places isn't for a presidential candidate, it is for a slate of electors.
you do not have the constitutional authority to vote directly for a presidential candidate in the general election.

I'd rather Write in Ron Paul, and have the vote thrown away, than throw away my vote on a man i'd never write in.

(Yes, I just made that up)

Whether it's counted or not... in 20 years i'll be damn proud to say I wrote him in. My motivation to write him in so much in 2012 is that I opted to not vote in 2008 instead of writing in Ron because "I saw no point."

I regretted it this entire election season and I imagine anyone that voted for Barr in 2008 trying to "send a message" feels just as badly...

WIRP WIRP WIRP Baby! We said NOBP from the start, we have to stick with it!

I'm considering voting for Gary Johnson as well. He isn't the whole package, but he is very much against the Federal Reserve.

As someone who regrets voting for Barr "to send a message" - I can tell you that you are 100% correct.
This time I will be writing in RON PAUL.

I am not sure that I understand what you are stating?

Well, I was posting the wrong URL' for the different various I had made, so I only have the two final versions left, meaning that the other two are lost; however, I think these two finals are very good, so I am happy with them.

If you cannot write in, then you can always cast a blank ballot. The French did it in their run-off presidential elections.

After Ron endorsed the three 3rd party candidates in '08 I stopped paying attention and just mindlessly voted for Barr. In hindsight Chuck Baldwin was obviously a better candidate (hence why Ron later narrowed his official endorsement to just him) but the LP is a better party (kind of) for my voluntaryist views than the CP. kind of a wash I guess.

Barring a Tampa miracle I'll probably vote GJ just to help out the LP and stir things up. But I'm extremely unexcited about it and certainly won't be doing activism/volunteer work for Gary.

Would also obviously also depend on if Ron endorses, and if I'm still paying attention when he does.

Sorry, I am not able to grasp any what you were stating. Like, the best I can make out, is that you are saying nobody has a right to vote, at all, period, or something to that effect?

only presidential electors have the consitutional authority to cast a vote for president.(that will happen at the electoral college) you have the authority to vote for the electors of your state. (in november)
ron paul is not an elector of your state.
