There continues to be an absence of Ron Paul in articles discussing the "jumbled GOP" and the results of the MI primary. The Wall Street Journal's article "No Standard Bearer" (Jan 16, 2008) even goes so far as to claim that Giuliani and Thompson were winners after Michigan because of the fact that there is no clear frontrunner.

Wall Street Journal said:
The candidates now head into Saturday's South Carolina primary for what can only be called a free-for-all. Rudy Giuliani is delighted, because the lack of a clear frontrunner means the race might still be jumbled on January 29 in Florida, where he has staked his claim.

Another winner yesterday was Fred Thompson, who is competitive in South Carolina and is running as the conservative who can unite the GOP's fractious wings. The former Tennessee Senator has laid out an impressive policy map, but he's suffered in early contests because his heart and energy didn't seem to be in the race.

Not even a mention of Ron Paul despite having beat both Fred and Rudy quite heartily. I mentioned on another thread how I thought the media might begin to hype Giuliani's possibilities in Florida as it approaches. I think they're starting to do that now.

I will call the GOP nomination: Mitt Romney. I will also go as far as saying that Mitt will take the Presidency as well. Ron Paul will not run as a 3rd Party candidate.

That being said it isn't horrible news for our movement, Mitt is malleable, and Dr. Paul can hammer a few changes into him if he wants our vote (which he needs to win.)

So, Mitt will probably take McCain’s VP (Tim Pawlenty) to appease moderates and adopt 1 or 2 of Ron Paul’s economic polices. The better Paul does during this primary will dictate how much leverage Dr. Paul has with the GOP! We need to get out all the votes we can, be nice to Mr. Romney, and be ready to support him in the general election with Dr. Paul’s endorsement.

I will never support Romney, no how, no way. It makes no difference what lipservice he gives to RP or the RP supporters. Remember, he changes positions more than most people change clothes. Remember "Flipper".

In the general election, my vote will be for Ron Paul (even if I have to write it in). Period.

I call it neocon wishful thinking.

Most people know who Rudy Guliani is, even in Michigan. So even though he didn't camapaign there, he should have at least gotten between 5-10% vote juts on name recognition and or admiration for 9-11.

Instead he got 3%, beaten by a little-known Texas Congressman by a 2-to-1 margin in raw votes.

How can Guliani say to Republicans with a straight face he can be there most effective nominee when only 3% of Michiganders gave them theri vote, or 5% of Iowans or 9% of New Hampshireites? That's embarassing for the former front runner.

not to burst the bubble, but Dr. Paul hasnt done enough in any state to warrant an opinion different from that regarding Guiliani. 4th and 5th place won't get you recognition. Most people paying attention will probably vote for mccain, mitt, or huck from here on out as they 'appear' to be the frontrunners after a few primaries. That said, i support Ron Paul fully and will be writing him in if he doesnt get the nom.

*ducks from oncoming troll attacks*

i don't want romney to win because then he may talk me into buying a used car, u know how convincing those guys can be
