No Ron Paul? Veteran voting Obama so tyranny kicks the public in the teeth

Absolutely right about a RHINO putting americans back to sleep. I will just not vote and may the chains of tyranny rest lightly(or heavily) upon americans who were too arrogant to end the wars and the lies.

I think so, too. I think (upon thinking about it) that the guy is right. IF Ron not on the ticket I think you have the right plan. I have voted for over 40 years. I think in this one I will not.

He has a point. If a Rino gets in office, it's likely that the public will go back to sleep. We can't let that happen.

Two problems here that is frightening.

1. A RINO putting people back to sleep.
2. No RP giving way to apathy.

Both just as dangerous as the other.

I keep coming back to the question of many RP supporters, does the cause
of liberty and freedom and the fight carry on no matter what, or will it live
or die on RP's fate in this race?

If Obama wins we get Rand in 4 years. If Obama loses we might get Rand in 8 years.

I'd rather write in Paul's name, so they can see exactly how they ended up with 4 more years of Obama:
47% Romney, 48% Obama, 5% Paul.

I've been saying this for a while. I'd rather see Obama win than any of the neocons. It sets Rand up in 2016

There is little to no difference between obabma and the neocons

True. But an Obama win would let Rand run in 2016 rather than 2020. So that's a plus.

And on this note, we need more people like Rand. I hope people on these forums consider running for local office, etc. It may be that the only way to change this system is to do it ourselves.

In terms of policy you are correct. However, their rhetoric is entirely different, and that's the key. If one of the neocons wins, he will win by spouting all kinds of small-government rhetoric, blaming the socialist Obama for all our economic woes, etc, as the economy continues to tank. After four years of it, people will come to associate the continuing economic failure with the small government "changes" (when in fact there were none) implemented by neocon X. So when Rand or some other genuine small govt conservative comes along talking about how we need smaller government, no one will believe him. The sheeple will go for the next socialist promising hope and change. That's why I say it's better for Obama to win reelection and continue to spool up resentment against big government than to see some neocon RINO make things worse.

This is premature. Ron is still very much in this race.

Agreed. But it's never too early to come up with a backup plan. There is a solid argument for an Obama victory in 2012 being better than a neocon victory. If you agree with me in that principle, then I think it also follows logically that Ron should go third party if and when it becomes obvious he cannot win the GOP nod. It should help ensure Obama wins in 2012, as well as continue to generate publicity and attention for the case against big government, both of which help set Rand up for a 2016 run

That assumes there would be a country left for Rand to be president of. These are bad times.

Yep. Special interests have a chokehold on this nation. Grip gets tighter every year.

Gotta get Ron Paul in there. May be our last chance.
