I just saw Whitney Houston donate from Orlando Florida on the ticker.
they have to send those back. wish people wouldn't do that...
How are they able to get the transaction to go through with the wrong name or can they choose what name they want to display?
Yeah those people that do that actually cost the campaign money. They still get charged credit card transaction fees on those. Shameful. Also sickening. I hope the campaign releases who that person really is.
Did someone hack it? It's at 223.00
Are you certain that is the case, and if so, how?
Any time a card is charged (whether it is a legitimate charge or not), the retailer/merchant/etc is charged for the transaction fee. Now if the transaction doesn't go through, is declined on the spot, then the merchant/retailer/etc is not charged. So when you mistype your credit card # on the donation site, it will decline it or say invalid info (something of the like) or if you are over the max. However, if it posts to the ticker, it went through. It charged the card. The transaction was made and the campaign will be charged the fee.
I am pretty darn certain. I was a part owner in a restaurant and we had online ordering.
