I find around 5:30-7 I get the most action. However it is random.

I call when ever I can. Yes, less pickups in the daytime (most at work) but then again, some of those numbers are BUSINESSES that are only open in the daytime.
I also seems to get a lot more elderly people in the daytime.

use common sense and allow for time zones, that is assuming you're calling around the country

I have a dumb question. Exactly how does the phone from home thing benefit us? I know that it identifies voters, but what can that help other than just polling? I mean when people call and a Paul voter is identified, is it that they try to convince them to vote in the caucuses/primaries or something?

Yes, If a RP supporter is identified. The campaign will contact them for a Bumper Sticker, Sign is offered.
If the person supports another candidate that's when the campaign uses persuasion calling.
