I've been listening to conservative talk radio lately to get a feel for what the pundants are talking about. I have heard them rant and rave about "Constitutionalism", limited government and the "debt crisis". The only candidate that is a strong constitutionalist is RP but he continues to be ignored. We need educated and articulate people to call into these shows so their audience members can hear the message.

Last night I was listening to Mark Levin and he mentioned every candidate BUT Paul during one of his rants. The media is not doing us any favors so we need to go to the media ourselves to get the word out.

Only problem is you would have to call under false pretenses or call about a subject and then somehow suggest that Ron Paul has the answer for it. If you mention RP to the screener it is highly unlikely that you will get through.

Levin was called several times in the 07-08 campaign by grassroots supporters. Him not mentioning RP this time around is blowback.

Levin is a lost cause, don't waste your oxygen on the guy. Trust me-- you don't WANT Levin talking about Ron Paul.

The point is not necessarily to get Levin or other TS host to talk about him but have us open the eyes of others my calling in. at this point it's all about spreading the message and numbers of votes.

You're right, we need to find a way to deal with these people. They either ignore Ron completely or bash him, both are unacceptable. If it weren't for their BS and the Fox heavyweights (O'reilly, Hannity and Von Sustern) Ron's favorability and poll numbers would be sky high right now. Someone here suggested we group up and contact their sponsors which I think is a great idea.

I've gotten on the radio a few times. Although I didn't mention "Ron Paul" to the screener, I didn't lie. As long as you have an interesting point to make they'll let you on the air. Unless you claim to be a Democrat make sure you have some kind of substance to your point/argument though. "Sarah Palin is an idiot," won't get you past the screener if you don't sound like an uninformed, ignorant Democrat.

Jason Lewis is actually pretty libertarian leaning, if you've ever heard him. He generally has good things to say about Ron.

I recommend understanding how each host feels about Ro, what they don't like about him. Then address that directly and preemptively.

This is an absolute lost cause. We waste our time and effort when we call these shows, you can still do it if you like but it's not going to be effective. Most of the large hosts out there wont give us the time of day.. hell Michael Medved plays a clown horn every time he talks about Ron Paul.

However I have a few ideas to be able to reach the talk radio audience..

A ) Run ads on local radio stations. That way you get your message out to the audience in between the breaks of the host. They can continue to ignore him and we will still get our message out. If it's at the local level the national hosts won't even know the ad is being run either and the stations will want the ad money. We need to create a framework so we can chip in for this and create the ads for this project though I feel it would be an effective one.

B ) Every time you feel like e-mailing or calling the host, instead call your local talk radio stations program director and ask them to carry content that is Ron Paul friendly. I would suggest Free Talk Live for this.. it's not Ron Paul all the time but the topics they discuss are of a liberty nature and he will get discussed on that program. They also have a list of phone numbers and contacts on their website. http://local.freetalklive.com Just tell them you like their station but you would also like them to carry Free Talk Live (because obviously they don't think their own content is crap, I'd also wouldn't mention Ron Paul in this call.)

C ) Generate enough hype everywhere else in friendly media that they absolutely have to talk about Ron Paul.

I have heard Medved, Levin, and Hewitt intentionally ignore Ron and/or specifically call him out and rant against him. They know that times are changing and they are in RINO survival mode.

During the 08 campaign, we shut down Mark Levins phone network calling him. Mark told the audience he was unable to get a single intelligent Ron Paul supporter on the phone and played the marine core anthem for an hour because we jammed his phone network. Don't even bother with this approach.

He himself is a total no talent douche bag and he wouldn't even have a radio show if his show wasn't coupled with Sean Hannitys and sold as a package deal to radio stations..

Maybe we could hire these people to do some commercials?

Pay the shills to say something along the lines of:
(before every show)

Hello, this is (Insert Shill Name Here), I am a paid mouthpiece for the industrial complex. I am paid to screw this country and promote war. If I actually gave a 'chit about the troops, I would rail against sending them off to die or to be shot up in undeclared, unconstitutional wars. If I were an honest individual I would endorse Dr. Paul, but since I'm not, tune in to my show for more spew...

Your right, they are and low and behold they put down and ignore Paul based upon that.. They *are* shills, 100%.. but we need to find a way to get around them to reach the ears of the people who's brains they pack with bullshit every day. Some people get (what they believe is) all of their news from these people. The radio station is not the host (a lot of them are even owned by Democrats) The campaign has and will run radio ads right between Levin and Medvid.. all I'm saying is we should also try to do that ourselves and do it early to turn peoples minds around on what candidates they believe are viable.

If you have other ideas then the ones I've put forth, I want to hear them, that's why we are here after all.

How about Mike Church? Also, with Iowa approaching, there are Christian call-in shows, including some that are about saving and investing in the current economic situation.
Rush has totally taken up the "Obama & 'ruling elite' are Keynesians" though he's probably on this big "Friedman was a freedom-loving prophet" gig as advertised on NewsMax. But someone could call about the economy and point out some areas Friedman MAY have not had the full picture and introduce some Austrian philosophy.
A good "in" there is to talk about the FDR Depression. There's a wealth of material about this on Mises, esp. by Robt Higgs (see Regime uncertainty) that people like RUsh would discuss, since it somewhat fits in with their ideas. If we predispose people to the philosophy, then whenever they hear Ron Paul speak, it is going to resonate with what they've heard and they'll want to know more.
I know this is just one angle, but you could consider it for some of those who otherwise would screen us out. Just tell them you want to talk economics and "ask some questions" about it since this or that has happened in your life.
Also, seek out the local stations with talk radio. In Boston, 'BZ and WRKO (Howie Carr) come to mind. That might help for the upcoming NH primary.

The best thing we can do is to make sure Hannity, Levin, and Rush do NOT talk about Ron Paul. They are idiots, and will only give people false ideas about the Ron Paul campaign. And lying to get on the shows to talk about Ron Paul is a terrible idea. If you're gonna talk about Ron, you better say that before you get on the show.

Better idea: listen to Peter Schiff and Jack Hunter online...make them popular. Schiff especially is a great radio host. These guys are strong on economics and support Ron Paul.

^^^^

We need to learn from our mistakes and we did this before and it had very little effect. Things like slamming Mark Levin's lines actually hurt us.. True he deserved it, but he's the guy with the microphone, and he can bash on Paul every single day if he likes.. and usually does.. Paul had some positive interviews on talk radio in the past but mostly on minor programs.

The top shows are:
Rush Limbaugh
Sean Hannity
Glenn Beck
Michael Savage
Mark Levin
Laura Ingraham
Michael Medved

With the exception of Beck, the only way your going to get on one of those shows is if you sound stupid and the host wants to rip you and make Ron Paul look foolish. If you actually do make a good point, they will hit the 7 second delay and dump your call then call you an idiot. We are not going to win over these hosts. Your more likely going to do damage to the campaign then actually turn any of these conservative radio listeners on to Ron Paul and sorry to say but a large portion of them are so old they don't know a twitter hash tag from a hash brown.. so they are not going to be hearing the message in alternative media.

Lets get some ideas to figure out how to tap this audience, this is big challenge Ron will face in wining the Republican nomination.. if not the biggest.

Calling in to try and convert these dummies is a waste of time and potentially counter-productive to the campaign, we need to, rather promote our own media outlets:

Andrew Napolitano
Jack Hunter
John Stossel
Peter Schiff
and so on....

Plus shows with guys like Covuto and mid day shows are relatively friendly without direct endorsements

That's a great idea, do any of them run syndicated terrestrial radio shows?

If not, it doesn't tap that audience.
If so, call your local talk radio stations program director and tell them you like it.

The big shot talk radio dudes are bought and paid for… if you haven't noticed :-) They are there to project a false framework in listeners minds. Ron Paul winning would mean an end to the military industrial complex as well as the pharmaceutical industrial complex… there's no way they'll begin to truthfully promote Ron.
