that template was a pain in the ass to work with. It was very rigid, and being an older template, didn't have a lot of the features that make development life easy.

It was like starting from scratch, which I am not opposed to doing, but I didn't want to waste time reinventing the template.

This template is a lot easier to work with. Basically, the entire background is one image. Let me show you real quick.

Yeah, this one is fine then. We just need to come up with a good background image.

So I just took out the link to the background image and replaced it with #000 black.

So, to change the theme, all I would need is an image to link to.

If anyone wants to work on the theme, I can give you specs for the image.

Also, I can change the text alignment rather easily as well, so basically just need to create an image theme and make sure the text is formatted to fit inside of it.

With the other template, the image of the statue of liberty was broken up into pieces, which made me have to do all kinds of changes like 6 different places just to get the image to line up, not to mention wrapping the text around it.

Now if we wanted to put the statue of liberty in, we can just get an image the size of the screen and somewhere in there paste an image of the statue.

See what I am saying?

the specs on the old image were

width 1400px
height 800px

I can work the text around the image no problem

I also have adobe CS4 extended with PS and Fireworks, so if we get a nice image montage, I can blend and work with transparencies as well.

Just need the design specs and the image files!

Oh and do you think I should go ahead and center align the text?

Also don't forget about browser screen resolution.

My designer usually does 760px fixed width with margins for the larger resolutions. This is to fit the 800px width that a lot of people still use.

I am pretty good about working with w/e design specs tho as far as making sure the designs render correctly in any browser size. I can resize background images as needed or make fluid width columns with css liquid layouts.

But its a good idea to keep that in mind when coming up with the background images.

So yeah I can either center align the text or just bump over the padding to justify.

The other good news is that I got a commitment from my business partner to work on the flash for the graphs, so we will have some really nice features.

He will need a couple days, but he's gonna look at it later tonight. So yeah good news, I have flash pro on my end that is great with design.

Someone was talking about name change, this is no problem, I have the $10 a month deal going on. We can mirror the site as much as we want.

I have a developer set up where I can work on this offline if I have to, means the site is stored locally so can be moved to whatever domain whenever.

the site itself is structurally ready. We just need to get behind a theme. I have some great content that someone sent me via PM that I am going to ad in tonight.

I have a graphic person, as well as 2 novelist to help keep things clean.

I will be adding in content tonight, just need to decide on whether to go with the bowling green birthday theme (Saturday March 6th) or the constitution signed into law in NY theme (Thursday March 4th).

Also, if anyone is really good at video editing, it would be helpful to splice together clips of the endorsements and recent public speaking appearances into a 3-4 minute youtube. This can be the main video that will appear more prominently on the site.

This is shaping up really well, and I expect the site to be marketable in the next 48 hours.

yeah counter is ready, as soon as I get the graphics laid in, it will be ready to go.

We'll be tweaking the site out after it rolls.

I am expecting probably less than 24 hours. if I feel up to it, and can get my graphics guy to stop making Rock Band trax for X-box maybe even late late tonight or early am. heh.

But yeah this time tomorrow should not be a problem to run with it.
