That is a preposterous statement on Gingrich's part. Trying to make RP supporters to follow a certain path is like trying to herd cats; they'll scatter in different directions once you mention the name Romney.

It all depends on what he was referring to when he said "Ron Paul people". Was it the 2 million that voted for him in the primaries, or the hardcore Paul support (such as the delegates or people that visit sites like this and DP)? 90% of the people here for example won't vote for Romney, but the 2 million primary votes don't congregate at sites like this. Most of those (and quite possibly 90% of them) are just typical GOP voters who just chose Paul over the other candidates on the ballot.

To be perfectly honest, none of the people I personally know that chose Paul in the primary here are the types that will vote for Johnson or sit out the general. They will vote straight ticket GOP.

Really though that is a good thing, because it does show that Paul was able to reach typical voters and wasn't limited solely to a voting bloc he created on his own.
