Newsweek Article Smearing Ron Paul Please Comment

The article seems to be saying that Ron Paul thinks we can save $1 trillion by stopping the foreign empire when in reality Ron Paul says we can save billions....he says our foreign policy, our foreign adventurism, and our presence around the world, etc...costs us nearly a $1 trillion dollars...

I like how they convieniently leave out of budget items, like the entire war in Iraq and Afghanistan from thier empire calculation.

The idea of omitting veteran care and benefits is also absurd. It is not that Paul wants to cut off benefits to current veterans, he is acknowledging that the veterans we are creating now will bring about costs in the future, just as previous veterans have.

Rather than attack the author or his authority (publisher), anybody want to attack his facts? I don't have time, though I found a lot of stuff to investigate further regarding NASCO/SPP/TTC over at Eagle Forums. Granted, I'm skeptical of them because of their somewhat stereotypical 'conservative' bent that I'll never be able to merge my own allegiance with (anti-feminism, pro-marriage/family at the federal level, and some of the other "traditionalist" concerns). Nevertheless, facts are facts -- especially if they are corroborated.
