My idea:
I love that format!![]()
I honestly think that every immigration stance advertisement we will be running relates to his foreign policy as well. We need to show how bringing our troops home to protect our country and cutting the massive overhead spending to operate overseas will positively affect immigration!
We need two kill two birds with one stone - not only do we need to get Ron Paul elected in South Carolina, we need these people to state that they agree with foreign policy, which is getting heavily critisized by the other Republican candidates.
All of Ron Paul's messages are intertwined around a singular issue - freedom. If we start blending our issues, we will be most effective!
I'm going to search for ads, can anyone throw together an ad with that format that relects this perspective? I can write bullet points out!![]()
Going to go research that website now, then I might try to write an ad with your format, and maybe you can throw it together?![]()
So right now I'm gathering a sense of what all we should address. Illegal immigration is a plus. We need to specifically state the relevance of his stance to Beaufort County's recent ordinance seeking to deter illegal immigration. They understand that we need to remove the incentive, and maybe a direct quotation of Ron Paul saying this about removing the incentive, and then say "Ron Paul represents South Carolina"!
South Carolina is more favorable to the war, but Ron Paul's foreign policy is crucial and if we can tie-it in with illegal immigration and national security, as well as federal spending. The people are going to want to hear about eliminating federal taxes, even if the pundits for these corporations do not. There is a common thread that relates all of these stances, and we need to illustrate this in a simple manner!
It might be worth it to have a simple sentence about eliminating the Department of Energy, since it seems that they would be relieved to hear that.
Also, I think one of Ron Paul's biggest charms is his honesty and his realness. We need to have a little group of information about that as well. The fact that he is a doctor that has delivered over 4000 babies, the fact that he has been in Congress for 30 years fighting for these same stances on issues, the fact that he does not take special interest money but still receives the most funding, the fact that he has continually fought to restrain the federal government with the Constitution.
Also, South Carolina has a rich history of being patriots. 20 South Carolina citizens signed the Constitution, and they have always been involved in the Revolution. We need to play to that sense of patriotism. Perhaps that can kind of set the tone for the backdrop of the ad?
We have a couple of days until New Hampshire is done and we'll start receiving the full focus of the grass-roots in this forum. If we lay the foundation for South Carolina now, when everyone shows up, we'll be ready to fly. If we get a stellar full page insert down and have our contacts lined up to run it in every single newspaper, then when they all show up, energized from New Hampshire and aware of South Carolina's all or nothing mentality, they'll drop in our funding and we will play a huge role in winning the state for Ron Paul!
""Ron Paul stands for the principle of eliminating the Department of Energy and other costly, ineffective bureaucracies in order to return the power of government to the individual states and to keep the earnings of every American in their hands."
"Dr. Paul understands illegal immigration and is dedicated to successfully treating the problem. Ron Paul's stance is the same as Beaufort County's recent ordinance seeking to deter companies from hiring illegal immigrants - we need to eliminate the incentive for illegal immigration. Ron Paul represents South Carolina!
"Make no mistake, Americans are happy to welcome immigrants who follow our immigration laws and seek a better life here. America is far more welcoming and tolerant of newcomers than virtually any nation on earth. But our modern welfare state creates perverse incentives for immigrants, incentives that cloud the issue of why people choose to come here. The real problem is not immigration, but rather the welfare state magnet. - Ron Paul"

"Ron Paul stands for border security. American Troops should be home, defending our national security here. Our military presence and intervention in the Middle East and around the planet costs American taxpayers a trillion dollars a year and gives incentives for Islamic radicals to gain power. We threaten our national security by creating enemies and leaving our own borders unprotected and our troops vulnerable to attack. As President, Ron Paul could bring our troops home from around the planet and stabilize American borders and our national economy."
"Since 2002, the price of oil has jumped from $28 a barrel to nearly $100 a barrel. No wonder gas prices are so high. The cost of running foreign military operations threatens our economy and our environment. The Pentagon uses more oil than 180 countries, contributing to global warming, and costing the American taxpayer a trillion dollars a year, roughly the amount of federal income taxes Americans pay. Ron Paul thus stands for eliminating the federal income tax, to let Americans keep their money to take care of themselves, their homes, and their families. As President, Ron Paul will change our foreign policy to cut federal spending to make this possibillity a reality, with South Carolina's support."
