Thank me for this by getting everyone organized and supporting this very crucial effort. :)

Local newspapers are highly effective in getting out the vote. Apparently we won a county in Iowa through a local newspaper effort. We can collaborate in this forum together about the ads that we want to run. We can identify which issues we need to run on. We need to cover every single one of these newspapers!

We also need letters to the editor! We should have a Ron Paul opinion piece in every single South Carolina newspaper, every single day of the week. Its ultimately their decision, of course, but when they receive 100 of them from 100 people every day, they'll feel compelled to pick at least one each day. :p

Also, here's an interesting strategy that won't seem overly political with our message and candidate. We need to find the tragic losses that South Carolina citizens have sacrificed in this war, and express our sympathies and regret. Ron Paul will bring our troops home to protect our country so that more South Carolina citizens do not need to die! Not sure if this is a good idea or not, but its an interesting one. :)

The more personal we can make these ads and editorials, the better. We need to target these people specifically. As the federal government centralizes power away from the people, it naturally pulls the media away from the people with it. If we find a strategic way to strike straight at the people through the local newspapers, we will succeed. No one else will plan like this! :)

Now, without further adieu, presenting the list....

stellar work!

I guess next up is getting a list of prices, and how much notice they need before running?

Well, if everyone on this website would start caring about getting Ron Paul in the White House, we'd all be in this forum, making it happen! I can't do everything, for fuck's sake! ;)

Can someone with some graphic design experience create a "8.5 X 11" (front and back) pdf format that we can use as our official brochure/advertisement that we can use for newspaper inserts.... This way we have the exact same message going out to all of the papers across the country.....

Newspaper inserts are going to be by far the easiest and most effective way for us to do this and get it distributed.....Otherwise we are going to be spending big bucks on traditional ads that people may or may not see... These newspaper inserts are two sided and are color & high gloss..... Very professional like a brochure... That is a lot of advertisement for the price... Two sides of colored material/info ......

Again, we need ONLY ONE uniformed advertisement that we can all use... This will eliminate so much wasted time.....

Right now we have organized chaos.... We need to get this going in an effective manner.... I would recommend that whomever creates "our ad", should upload it to ads4paul.com and/or in the campain marketing forum so that we can get this out, printed, etc...

Secondly, we need to concentrate on only the states with upcoming primaries including those for Super Tuesday.....

Thirdly, we need to have a representative for each of these states to head up this project.... One person per state can handle this for the entire state... All you have to do is get the list of papers from your states press association.... It will contain the names, contact info, circulation counts, etc.... I suggest we do these only for the "weekly" papers and let the national campaign worry about the daily papers.... (weekly papers are usually only printed once or twice a week) Something each of our states coordinators can get in touch with the campaign to handle.

Most importantly.. we need the money to do this. Having just one "insert" we can have printed in bulk to cut the cost... Our total cost per insert : printed, delivered to the papers, and inserted should be around .06 - .09 cents each will vary depending on the papers charge for inserting....

Should we have some sort of "chipin" for each state, or some sort of money bomb for this project only, like the blimp........ I think the latter is the best solution....If this is the case, we could be up and running by next week with ads ready to go out in the papers.....

for info on newspaper inserts, visit www.teradel.com

email me at lakeguntersville @ gmail.com for more info.... we have got to get this going or else we are just wasting time....again, right now all we have is organized chaos....

Please email me or post your thoughts or better ideas on getting this project launched.

Let's work on South Carolina first! We could branch off into Nevada as well, but South Carolina is much more important to this race! We have two weeks, and we'll have two weeks after South Carolina to hit Super Tuesday states. Winning South Carolina will make it much more effortless to take Florida and the Super Tuesday states as well! :)

If we get everyone in this forum and participating, we can come up with some great ads! We need personalized ones when possible, especially regarding troops in Iraq and casulaties! A county in South Carolina recently passed legislation to try to curb illegal immigration - HUGE opportunity for us to bag votes! :)

Fine... I agree... but this is organized chaos..... how about putting together a team, advertisment to use, and get this going so we can participate.

Three things needed:
1. The advertisment (We only need one to use) front and back for a newspaper insert
2. List of the papers (can be obtained from SC press association) will have the contacts, circulation, etc.
3. Someone to place these ads
4. THE MONEY.....

address these issues or otherwise this is a complete waste of time..... I am not going to make any other posts regarding this issue..... Either get this organized or drop it..... I am tired of all of this talk... someone get all of these forum users to come together or we will serve no good...

We all have good ideas, and all share the same goal, but however it is pure chaos and nothing productive is coming out of any of these ideas in these forums...

I've made the list, I've been speaking up for this forum every chance I can get, I've contacted the administration about taking this forum to the forum index, front and center, I've created a poll to gauge support for that idea, I've contacted llepard and showed him what is up with this...

If the grassroots organization would actually come together and accomplish something WHERE IT COUNTS, this would be effortless for ALL OF US.

I can't begin to address anything but the list, which I've already produced, tomorrow I can go through every website and get specific contact information about the ads.

Also, we need editorials! :)

A good generic ad for South Carolina will be great for all of these papers, but some prominent ads in specific papers, the college ones too, would be great because our whole objective here is to get local, and the more local we get, the better effect we will have! Reality has confirmed the success we will have with this!

For example, that story about the soldier coming home from Iraq. A solid testament to Ron Paul's objections, before and after, his military support, and us saying in the ad that we want this dude, by name, home for good, will be VERY EFFECTIVE!

I'm rallying and I'm rallying for everyone to come together and actually win this thing. I've set everything up, from ideas about the calling to this, and there is NOT MUCH MORE I CAN DO.

In fact, I have to go to sleep so I can wake up for one hell of a night at work with not enough sleep, so I can come home and do it all again tomorrow (thank god I have two nights off after tonight! :D)

I really sincerely hope that all of this effort supporting Ron Paul for President isn't going to fall through in the 11th fucking hour.

I agree, there is not much more I can do either. I have made several posts in several threads about this. I am to my wits end and about to through in the towel on this.. Too much chaos... Disorganization is getting us nowhere.

We need the money first, or all this time spent is totally wasted.... I do not understand why the HQ, or the national campaign is not doing this... This is why I have given so much money.... and seen nothing. This is exactly what all of the money we have given is supposed to be going towards....

the newspaper inserts are the most effective and cost efficient way of accomplishing what we want to do in the local/rural papers..... Dealing with individual ads, the dimensions, layouts, etc.. is too time consuming when dealing with multiple papers... This is why using two sided color "newspaper inserts" (8.5" x 11") is the most effective way of advertising to the masses. One design, no worrying about formats, sizes, etc...... Make the call, have inserts delivered, and have inserted....

I applaud you on your efforts as well, but we are all just wasting our time with this without the money to place these ads/inserts....

Hell, I could handle the entire project for multiple states if I just had the money or access to the funds...... this is ridiculous and extremely frustrating......

Don't forget border cities such as Augusta GA. I know ALOT of people in Aiken SC subscribe to the Augusta Chronicle, I"m sure Rock Hill people get Charlotte newspapers.

I'm here in the horry county meetup group right now, we're going door to door today and we're discussing this idea right now. This could be something very useful to us in the western side of horry county that we do not have the manpower to walk through. Plus its more rural and spread out too.

I'm working on an ad right now. I can also donate some cash if we ever get one together.

Freakin A, it is about time you guys, I am not the person to come up with this stuff, but by golly I'll run with it. Charlotte has a tool owned major paper, we need the smaller local papers. Rhinoserous Times maybe and Creative Loafing??? (spelling....can't get the spell check to download grumble grumble...)

I don't have adobe acrobat so I made this in gimp. Let me know what you think.

There is a new very local newspaper that is being circulated in a small segment of Myrtle Beach. It's called the Carolina Forest Chronicle. I know a LOT of people are reading it right now, because it is brand spanking new, AND they are delivering it to every house in the area (at least a few thousand) for free. Every single edition.

The paper says its' website is www.cfchronicle.com, but that pages yields nothing for me.

Do we need a PAC to run these adverts? I'd be willing to call and get ad pricing. Can anyone figure a way to start getting us some donations?

If it is very new, I am sure they would appreciate helping our cause by taking our wealth of supporter money! :)

Awesome, we have someone on board that can make the actual ad! :)

We need to collaborate on some ideas for ads. The idea for an insert is definitely the best way to go! If it is two sides, we could have one side dedicated to illegal immigration, which should be a strong selling point in the state (and everywhere).

We also need to stress the importance of bringing home the troops so they can protect us here at home. Securing our borders is an act that prevents terrorism from overseas. Securing our airplanes and transportation systems with the military would do so as well, no?

If our troops were home and our borders drawn where they physically exist, and not half-way acrossed the world, then we would be safe, and so would our troops. Not only that, but they would be home! :)

Looking at it like this, we need to tie in the War in Iraq and immigration, and stress how coming home and stopping illegal immigration are mutally dependent - which is great, since they are both crucial issues of today.

Also, we need to stress Ron Paul the man! I've been reading about his Congressional campaign, in '96, I believe, where he took on the entire GOP political machine, from president George Bush to governor George W. Bush, and slammed them in the face regardless. This was accomplished by going directly to the people and getting the message out, and we need to inspire people with who he actually is! Ron Paul the stance on the issues is well known, Ron Paul the message (which I have a post on after I sleep :D) not so well, although it is what got all of us here in the first place, and Ron Paul the personality is virtually unknown, and this is our weak spot, as people like Huckabee play theirs up as their strongest selling point.

I know I'm just talking right now ;), but I'm kind of just tossing out what I was thinking about last night at work. I'd love to work with you to coordiate some very effective ads like this! I believe if we get the advertisements set and ready to go, and have everything set so that we can just raise the money and then execute it, then everyone will chip in and we'll make history! :)

Yes, exactly. I had only found a list of more "established" newspapers, but we need ALL advertising outlets here. Could you track down some contact information for this? :)

Everyone in South Carolina, your wealth of understanding of the state is greatly appreciated and will help us win!

I'm not familiar with the laws (yet :D) but I believe you do not need one, or you do but you don't need to report it, if it is underneath a certain amount of money.... possibly $1000?

I have the next two days off and just need to get some rest first, but I have an elaborate action plan to start initating towards making this all happen. :) Everyone's help is greatly necessary - anyone who knows about PAC's or these laws, or how we can begin to organize the money in general, please contribute to this thread! Later when I'm rested I'll start hunting you all down anyways and making an offer you can't refuse. :D
