Newsmax: Romney’s Maine Victory Facing Increasing Doubts

Nice

“Each vote should count. Maybe that should be done through a primary system.”

There's no reason every vote couldn't have counted in Maine's caucus. Just count them all.

except primaries are less transparent if there are problems, the public doesn't oversee the count, even in batches.

Good point--the concern of caucus detractors isn't truth, but appearances. If the ME caucus had been conducted by Diebold, we'd all be moving on by now.

This is exactly the narrative they are trying to develop.

Take the vote away from the people and give it to Diebold

I'm glad this is getting some coverage. Besides, Ron's getting lots of delegates. I'm kinda glad the media isn't talking about that.

The "main" problem with the "Maine" caucus is that it is not conducted on one date for the entire state.

Having caucuses spread over several weeks is a bad idea and leaves too much opportunity for fraud. Telling each caucus not to count the vote out loud and not to announce the count, but to send the totals directly to the RNC to count is a terrible idea, as one chairman learned when his caucus unanimously voted to disclose the count and totals for the candidates and he later was told it had not yet been added in, then they told him a completely fraudulent count according to his own records which he had tweeted publicly. When told this the person at RNC changed their tune and took a note of his vote count, but there is no knowledge that corrections were made. He was also told it was just a straw vote and would make no difference anyway.

Surely, anyone with a brain can see how this caucus system in Maine could only yield fraud and/or errors due to the methods employed. It makes me sick tho think how easily such a a procedure could be totally manipulated.

This whole thing has blown up in the establishments face. If they were going to rig the game, they should have said Mitt won by 500 votes, but the slim margin and the fact everybody knows places weren't counted at all or haven't caucused yet just makes the whole thing ooze with slime that not even the MSM can hide.

The entire voting collection system needs a boat load more transparency. Is it any surprise that every caucus that Ron Paul is expected to perform well there are back room recounts, missing votes, etc. I have no faith whatsoever that results are legitimate. This is also the number one excuse for voting apathy.

Something so simple should be streamlined and transparent.

but they are pushing for primaries which are neither.

This would only lead to democracy, which is what the GOP seeks to avoid.

Yep.

They keep pushing for these caucuses to changed to primaries so they will never have to deal with an insurgent Paul again.

KEEP the Caucus!! Just be honest!!

They didn't want to put Romney too far ahead because it would have been too obviously exaggerated then. They can only fudge the numbers so much before people start to realize they are fake numbers. If they said only 500 people voted for Paul, the whole state would know that was fraudulent because over 2000 people voted for him. They're going to know that Paul wasn't that weak in the state.
