Answering the question, “If the Texas Republican primary were held today, which presidential candidate would you be most likely to vote for?” 22 percent of those polled selected Mr. Paul. Just 17 percent of respondents voted in favor of Mr. Perry.
The poll comes just days after Mr. Perry announced his intention to seek the Republican presidential nomination. The Texas Republican governor had hinted at an entry earlier this year, testing levels of support for his candidacy.
Meanwhile, Mr. Paul, who is facing a surge of support and attention after criticizing the media for downplaying his campaign, spent much of the weekend slamming his Republican opponents.
The Texas congressman, who finished second to Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann in last weekend’s Iowa straw poll, highlights his votes against “every tax increase, every unbalanced budget” and proclaims he is the candidate who “will stop the spending, save the dollar, create jobs” and “bring peace.”

He isn't running for Congress again. Governor of Texas would be a nice one to have though. Hell, I'd consider moving there.

Gee, I wonder why Fox freakin news isn't running this poll at the top of every hour?

More details of the poll can be found here: http://www.azimuthpolls.com/

This poll was conducted by Azimuth which has shown a huge bias toward Dr. Paul unfortunately, take it with a grain of salt. There's no way Perry isn't way ahead of Paul in Texas.

"Most importantly, they [PPP] polled Texas Republican Primary voters, while our sample focused on highly involved Republican voters with clusters in the most politically active Republican areas of the state and using lists taken not only from voter rolls but also from other sources likely to identify voters whose awareness of candidates and issues is substantially higher. Basically, they polled voters and we polled more of the grassroots party activists who will influence those voters."

Also, Poll Date: 5/29-6/3, 2011

Perry hadn't announced when this poll was conducted.

Actually, there was a recent poll conducted between republicans vs. Obama and it showed ONLY Romney and Paul beating Obama in Texas. Yep that's right..

This seems like an old poll. Don't over hype it. The numbers match the poll that was done 5/29-6/3, 2011.

Also, it does not look like a reputable polling provider (yet). Last post on their website was in July. Domain is registered to a P.O Box in Texas.
Registered in July.

When pitted up against each other for a fair fight with facts on the table, Paul would easily beat Perry.

There is just a perception that Perry has lead Texas to a healthy economy while the nation was in a recession. The simple truth is that most Texas hate Perry and only voted for him over the competing democrat.

Just think about how much better Texas would've done if Ron Paul were holding the reigns?

If I rember correctly he didn't even have the majority, he won with 35% of the electorate.

This is that model based on 'activists' not all voters, the idea being that activists disproportionately impact elections.

In the pPP poll Ron beat Obama too, Perry lost to Obama though, Romney was right about that part.

Coming from a newbie with only 2 posts, I have to ask:

Are you a Dr. Paul Supporter or a troll for the Dick Perry Campaign?

Do you support candidates for Liberty or candidates that like to make things go kabloowee !!!!
