Hi everyone,

Among some of my other hobbies/projects is a site I have been running for just under a year now called Election Target (www.electiontarget.com) which tracks elections around the globe. The way it works is quite simple:

  1. Register a username/account on the site much like you would this forum
  2. Select a state/race (eg. Senator (Class III) for Kentucky)
  3. Predict the winner (eg. Rand Paul) or update your prediction as the election campaign continues
  4. Come election night, if your candidate wins, you get a ballot, then we do a draw for prizes like giftcards, books, etc. (we try to make these prizes worth while too!)
  5. In the meantime, each race has its own thread where you can post predictions/comments/news and debate.

The site that was set up for the US 2010 Congressional elections is located here:
http://www.electiontarget.com/United%20States/us10.php

Election Target is a project that a few friends and I started up back in the spring of 2009 in order to get more folks engaged in their local/national elections and to offer a fun element to the election season. We also have a separate page for the Canadian federal election which will likely happen within the next 18 months and will be covering other countries eventually.

I wanted to share the site with everyone here in the hopes of getting more American community members, raise awareness for the site and to get feedback from you guys on what works/what could be better. Please also share this page with your friends/relatives so we can get some good discussions going about the 2010 races.

Cheers!

Also forgot to add last night in my fatigue that I'm looking forward to hearing about anyone's initial impressions of the site. Thanks!

That I did. I'm a big student of politics (as might've been mentioned before:confused:) and one of my goals was to set up a site to see if people could predict the outcome of an election. Since most western governments are won or lost on a seat count basis, the site was set up to predict the local results which, in turn, should give us an indication of who the voters think will win the election.
