New Ron Paul Email: Help My Delegates Get to Tampa

Dear Chris,

As you know, the Republican National Convention is right aroundthe corner!

From the beginning, I’ve said this convention in Tampa will be a critical step for our R3VOLUTION.

That’s why I’ve instructed my campaign staff to offer financial assistance to our delegates who otherwise wouldn't be able to make it inorder to ensure every one of them can reach Tampa.

But in order to make this a reality, can I count on you to please make a generous contribution to help as many of ourcampaign’s delegates as possible make it to the Republican National Convention?

As you know, the establishment hasn’tjust sat still and quietly watched us take over party chapters and rack up delegates.

Their opposition has required our campaign tospend resources in Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, and Oregon to defend our gains and defeat their challenges.

And with August justaround the corner, we want to make sure we can cover expenses for delegates that need help reaching the convention.

Your contributionwill be put directly toward transportation, lodging, and other costs associated with getting these delegates to Tampa.

This isincredibly important for a number of reasons:

*** First, the Republican National Convention is our opportunity to plant ourflag and show that our Liberty movement is the future of the GOP.

Seeing a flood of pro-liberty delegates and so many new andyoung faces in Tampa will respectfully send that message to the GOP establishment.

*** Second, we’re expecting acredentials battle at the Convention to ensure the national GOP doesn’t just “look the other way” at some of the dirty tricks mysupporters had to deal with in many states.

I’ll need my supporters in Tampa to help ensure as many of our campaign’sdelegates get credentialed as possible.

*** And finally, the Republican National Convention provides us with the opportunityto affect the Party Platform.

As you know, pro-liberty delegates will be fighting for an internet freedom plank, an Audit the Fedplank, and a plan opposing the indefinite detention of American citizens.

We may also have a battle over a plank opposing theso-called “PATRIOT” Act and undeclared wars.

Getting these crucial issues in the Republican Party Platform will not onlyshow that we are the future of the GOP, but also perhaps even help convince some legislators who were “on the fence” on these issues tostart coming our way.

That’s why I’m hoping I can count on you to make a generous contribution to help ourcampaign’s delegates get to Tampa.

There’s no doubt that our Liberty Movement is growing by leaps and bounds.

And it’s because of your hard work and dedication that we are the future of the Republican Party.

From what I've read, the RP delegations (full or in part) in LA, OR, OK, MA all filed challenges with the RNC. The Mitt delegates filed challenges in Maine. They will all be going down there with the intention of being seated.

Take Jesse and Trygve to take pay cuts and maybe that will help.

We in our CD here in PA have raised over 1100 for our Delegate(1 of 5 from PA).

His total cost will be over 1800 for the room and Poll tax they charge at the convention.

He did say the Campaign asked if he needed help(they didn't say what kind).
He replied that 500 would be nice and has yet to hear back.

I held judgment but am now officially suspicious of Benton's motives.

Sorry but that's nonsense. I dont know the posters motive you're talking about but Im no GJ shill and Im done sending in money to the official campaign. They aren't spending what they have on anything except staffer salaries (must be nice to get paid to do pretty much nothing now) and $3M would nicely pay for the rally and send EVERY Paul delegate to Tampa. What exactly are they asking for money for? They already have a boatload that they're not spending.

Last I heard Dr. Paul is all about transparency and accountability. I would like to know how much the campaign is sitting on and where it intends to allocate the funds it does have on hand. Seems to me that if, indeed, they are setting on a coupla million then individuals should work towards using their money towards local and state candidates and the campaign should fund the delegates. IMHO.

Was I mistaken that they had $6M in reserves? Even so $3M ought to cover whatever they need. $3M / 500 delgates is $6k per. That should get them there and back plus one heck of a bar tab.

Attorney's fees for delegate challenges can be very expensive. And if they DIDN'T have the money, the other side could just overpower them. If they are planning to use the money for that, and to reach out to others who will be in the RNC viciinity, I will consider it money well spent. $3 million isn't all that much, and if there is a million left for Ron to help the best candidates, that is also fine with me. He can only do specific things with it under Federal law.

However, I would give to chip ins first. There are two stickied in this forum as we speak....
