New RevPAC Social Security TV ad "Tea For Two"

i love this ad. don't understand the hate.

here's the thing: not everything is aimed at your demographic.

people complained about the big dog ad too and that got more traction, more positive mentions on air, and more free airplay, than any other RP ad I can think of.

I have absolutely loved every revpac ad..... But this one... Ugh. Who does this appeal to? Not a good ad in my opinion.

i like the use of kids, and the idea of the ad, but the dialogue is wooden, no oomph. They should fix it, especially the line about the troops. It sounds so much better if he says, "It's time to bring our troops home, we can't afford to fight everyone else's battles any longer. Out troops need to be at home guarding their own country."

The criticisms I have for the other 2 Rev Pac ads aren't there for this one. This ad, at least, is jam packed with message. And good solid message. The whole time, they're talking about Ron Paul, getting points out there that we want people to know. Oath barely mentioned Ron Paul w/in the context of the Bill Manning story. Here, at least they're on message.

But I'm not sure about the kids playing old people. It could be weird and crappy, or cute and smart. I would say right now that I very slightly dislike it, but that could change.

Doesn't work for me - partly because it is really hard to hear the words.

Has it actually been tested with seniors? I would like to see some focus group results before spending money on this.

Testing and Focus groups? We don't do those here, witness superbrochures. =)

I think this is a good ad, though.

I'd say it would likely appeal to women and seniors, the two demographics Paul does the worst with. I think this is a good ad.

Does it still sound like electric to you? I honestly can't hear lecture no matter how hard I try.:p Maybe I need my hearing checked...lol[/QUOT

it's cause you northerners , use words like cah instead of car . cause your gonna pahk the cah not parrrrk the carrrrr. :)

As someone who just got back from visiting a grandma all day, I must say that this ad should work very well with female senior citizens. She raves about commercials with cute little children all the time. This is just the thing to catch her attention. People complain about our inability to reach the elusive senior citizen demographic. Well, here's your chance.

Targeted audience aside, with the uptick of negativity between the other candidates, the light use (flowers, curtains, etc.) and down-to-earth quality give it almost an "above the fray" quality. Nice change of pace? Time will tell. The dark prophetic or post-prophetic ads/videos have always struck me emotionally, but here's one that is almost escapist-looking; but, as has been said, hits most of the salient points, and is attractive to a demographic where Paul needs more inroads.

Heard the words perfectly in this one. Can't hear 'electric' no matter how many times I listen.(I'm English so does it matter). It's empire or social security. Not a difficult choice.

Looks like a good ad but it wont be played on any TV station. This is because they only raised 20,000 dollars.

I've seen mixed reviews regarding this ScottTrade-style ad. What makes this ad so genius is it appeals to women and senior voters (our weak areas) while discussing social security, electability, support from indie, youth, and democrats, securing our borders, and the economy. Genius in it's Simplicity.

Not sure how anybody on RPF would be so critical of this ad considering the countless number of threads indicating we need to focus on everything contained in this ad.

I'm of mixed minds about this ad. I like the content and it should attract attention with the target audience.

My fear is that some people may find it condescending. You know, young people exhibiting stereotypes of old people... "Well, Ron Paul wants to take away MY social security so I don't like him."

I hope I'm wrong about that.
