New Republic just posted more again

Imagine that - the eve of the Michigan primary. What perfect timing (again). I wonder what they have planned for this Friday - a shot of Paul in a KKK outfit?

"Okay.... how does reposting the stuff here help the campaign? By making it easier for people to find?" (Paul4Prez)

I appreciate the negative articles being posted to RP sites for the simple fact that if we can read them here, we won't be tempted to actually visit the sites to check out the stories. That's how the hacks earn their money you know, by how many hits they get to their pages.

Matter of fact, I think it would be good to assign ONE person to copy and paste all the bad stuff to one central location (which might as well be right here, since we already have a category for it). Wouldn't it be better if they got one hit (the person who copies it for the rest of us) than 5,000 hits? Boycotting their pages is the best and only way to hit 'em where it hurts most - their bank account. Ironically, it's RP supporters who read this crap out of curiosity more than anything, so it's the supporters who have taught them that writing trash about RP is a goldmine!

When people implored Wonkette to quit eviscerating RP, here was their answer from General Farr (the Wanktard leader in their 'Paultard' war) (Gen. Farr AKA Ken Layne) :

“Paultards -> Pageviews -> Ad Revenue -> Hookers & Blow.”

Paultard posts aren't going anywhere unless they stop bringing in the pageviews.”

There you have it straight from the ass's mouth, folks. Their basic economic survival is dependent upon RP supporters clicking on their sites to read the garbage.

Smearing Ron Paul -> Curiosity -> Pageviews -> We reward the hack by paying his/her rent.

No more.

Perhaps. However, there is a difference between Bill Cosby criticizing the black community as opposed to White Nationalists criticizing the same.

What I read in these letters is a burning hatred of Blacks (gays et.al.). I don't read any constructive criticism at all. Instead, what I see is a continuation of the fundamental hatreds that fueled White Supremacy thinking for the hundreds of years prior to the Civil Rights Act.

And just as in Holocaust denial, there is no reference At All in these letters concerning any possibility that Whites were even vaguely responsible for the destruction of black society in general in America. No mention whatsoever. It's all one-sided rhetoric minus any reasonable objectivity: Whitey slamming Blacky -- the same type stuff that permeates White Supremacists literature even today, and the same mindset that fueled Jim Crow. There's simply no attempt to be fair, or even semi-friendly to African-Americans in these letters. It's all negative negative negative with any hint of White Guilt safely suppressed away.

Of course, it's no surprise that Whitey comes out squeaky clean in these letters as these newsletters were clearly aimed at White folks....

Why are you even here?

The obviously faked outrage of all the people "piling on Paul," as one blogger put it, would be funny if it were not for the blatant hypocrisy. Many of these very same people condemn him for positions that they themselves hold.

That is just wrong and not true!!! The outrage is real to most GOPer's. The newsletters are racists and bigoted.

Dr. Paul will prove that he didn't write them, and then (and only then) the story will be over.

It's so strange to see Dr. Paul's supporters attacking the very people Ron Pual needs to reach... imagine how frustrating it must be to National to hold the GOP's (like me), disenchanted liberals, Libertarians, Truthers/Conspiracy theorists, and other 3rd party types all together.

Oooh, Courtney gives good conflation.

Ron Paul Letters = White Supremacy = Jim Crow = Destruction of black society = Gay Hatreds = Holocaust Denial

Also has a unique talent for being able to read between the lines and see what's "really" there.

Now if she could just explain why any of this is important in the here and now (other than a smear) I'd really be impressed.

Why are you here Courtney? You're obviously not a supporter. Your reservations and concerns are used as a veil to sow your seeds of doubt. You churn, churn and churn some more.

You mentioned you'd go away if you could get your 2300 (ha ha) back. Would you cut your losses and settle for 1000 if we all agreed to pitch in? Do you take paypal?

yeah thats what this campaign is about isn't it; an example of Americans from many walks of life promoting freedom; remember Freedom isn't Easy! :D

I think we all have to remember that Ron Paul is just a guy, he can make mistakes... I think some people like Courtney are really hurt, because they are now doubting his whole message.

I truly believe Dr. Paul is innocent of this, but he isn't defending himself by proving it (and he could so easily.) If these are really his words. written or approved by him, I would be crushed, and probably would hate Dr. Paul more than any other politician... it would be the ultimate betrayal.

So I say to Courtney and others... lets give Dr. Paul a few more weeks to prove himself...

"Jury verdicts, basketball games, and even music are enough to set off black rage, it seems,"

thats actually not racist, however politically incorrect it may be Ron Paul is not infalable

Riots after jury verdict-check
Riots after basketball game-check
Riots at music events-check

Pat Buchanan

In January 1992, Paul writes about his consideration of a presidential bid which he dashed after Pat Buchanan expressed his intention to run. Paul wrote of "the essential compatibility between [Buchanan's] ideas and mine" and "agreed to serve as the chairman of his economic advisory committee."

A 1992 issue of the Rothbard-Rockwell-Report tells of Paul's decision to defer to Pat Buchanan in the 1992 Republican presidential primary.

lol

The fact that the TNR weenies think this somehow taints Ron Paul just goes to show how detached from reality they are.

Lame...

Is it just me, or are these newsletters not all THAT bad.

This coming from a black man too.

Yeah, there's nothing that shocking here, really. It's just standard, run-of-the-mill political incorrectness, circa 1992.

And you can bet that the people making a really big deal out of it don't really even care about the statements themselves; they just want to take down Ron Paul, and if they think they can do it by feigning outrage over something so minor, that's what they'll do.

Of course, it's no surprise that Whitey comes out squeaky clean in these letters as these newsletters were clearly aimed at White folks....

To be fair, if they wanted to get started on Whitey, it would need to be the Ron Paul Encyclopedia Series, delivered by truck.

Anyway, there are 5 other republican candidates who'd like to continue the killing of innocents in Iraq because it's "in our national interests." There's one who seems to have a moral problem with that.

That's what they're all talking about today, so I'm going to go with that guy taking the moral position.

I think you are thinking what I was thinking when they first started showing up. They were hyped as much more than they really are and a few lines every few years by unscrupulous writers isnt that bad. In fact, theres a good amount of truth in them. I lived in DC during the "fleet footed youth" years. When the mayor gets busted on tape smoking crack you can't ignore the facts of your surroundings.

Okay.... how does reposting the stuff here help the campaign? By making it easier for people to find?

How does pretending that this smear doesn't exist help the campaign? Ignoring the attacks won't make them stop. Just ask John Kerry.

Exactly. From 20 years of newsletters where several writers contributed you get 4 racist remarks. Add to that that Ron Paul is a strict Constitutionalist (as all politicians should be) so his personal views on race(even if they were his views) are irrelevant. This really isn't that bad. It's being sensationalized for marketing purposes.

More Selections From Ron Paul's Newsletters
Post Date Monday, January 14, 2008

The Newsletters: Since at least 1978, Ron Paul has attached his name to a series of newsletters--Ron Paul's Freedom Report, Ron Paul Political Report, The Ron Paul Survival Report, and The Ron Paul Investment Letter--that frequently made outrageous statements. You can see the first batch of these newsletters here. Below are some more selections:

Race

In an article entitled "The Coming Race War," The Ron Paul Political Report refers to the "pro-communist philanderer Martin Luther King" and refers to his "non-violent approach" as "(i.e., state violence)." The newsletter advises that, "if there is any issue the Republicans have in their favor for the next presidential election, it is the question of race. It was all over for Michael Dukakis when Jesse Jackson gave his awful prime-time speech at the last Democratic
convention, and the cameras focused on masses of teary-eyed, left-wing blacks."

A May 1990 issue of the Ron Paul Political Report cites Jared Taylor, who six months later would go onto found the eugenicist and white supremacist periodical American Renaissance.

The May 1991 issue of the Ron Paul Political Report cites American Renaissance and offers readers subscription information for it.

The July 1994 Ron Paul Survival Report cites "criminologist" Jared Taylor.

The January 1993 issue of the Survival Report worries about America's "disappearing white majority"

The July 1992 Ron Paul Political Report declares, "Jury verdicts, basketball games, and even music are enough to set off black rage, it seems," and defends David Duke. The author of the newsletter--presumably Paul-writes, "My youngest son is starting his fourth year in medical school. He tells me there would be no way to persuade his fellow students of the case for economic liberty."

A March 1993 Survival Report describes Bill Clinton's supposedly "illegitimate children, black and white: 'woods colts' in backwoods slang."

Gays

The December 1989 Ron Paul Political Report contains entries on a "new form of racial terrorism," cites former Congressman Bill Dannemeyer's claim that "the average homosexual has 1,000 or more partners in a lifetime," and quotes Lew Rockwell, president of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, in the third person.

In January 1990, the Ron Paul Political Report cites "a well-known libertarian editor" who "told me: 'The ACT-UP slogan on stickers plastered all over Manhattan is 'Silence=Death.' But shouldn't it be Sodomy = Death'?"

The July 1991 Ron Paul Political Report defends homophobic remarks made by Tom Clancy, and cites Clancy saying, "I live in a free country, and if people want to have their anuses used in that way, while I find it unsavory, I do not arrogate to myself the right to prevent them from doing so."

The September 1994 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report states that "those who don't commit sodomy, who don't get blood a transfusion, and who don't swap needles, are virtually assured of not getting AIDS unless they are deliberately infected by a malicious gay."

Anti-Government Paranoia/Conspiracy Theories/Survivalism

A fundraising letter from Paul's 1984 Senate campaign in which Paul complains about the "minions of Kissinger and Rockefeller" and "the big New York banks, and their pals in Texas" who "want me silenced."

The January 1988 Ron Paul Political Report approvingly cites Dr. William C. Douglass, who "believes that AIDS is a deliberately engineered hybrid" developed at a World Health Organization experiment conducted at Ft. Detrick. Douglass has long been a fringe medical guru, and today claims that "smoking can help you live longer!!!"

The November 1989 Ron Paul Political Report reports on the Bohemian Grove and Ronald Reagan's "old Trilateralist agenda item of four-year terms for Congressmen."

This 1993 Ron Paul Strategy Guide entitled, "How to Protect Yourself from Urban Violence" is a special supplement the Ron Paul Survival Report.

In the April 1993 Ron Paul Survival Report, the author--writing in the first person--states, "Whether [the 1993 World Trade Center bombing] was a setup by the Israeli Mossad, as a Jewish friend of mine suspects, or was truly a retaliation by the Islamic fundamentalists, matters little." The newsletters also warns readers to "do your very best to keep your family away from inner cities. If you can't, have a haven remote from the metropolitan areas."

The May 1995 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report warns of "The Trilateralist Alan Greenspan" and its author writes, "Now that my five children are grown and educated, I've listened to the many supporters who've urged me to return to office. I can now give up my medical practice, and dedicate every fiber of my being to saving our country." The newsletter also contains an advertisement for the Ron Paul congressional exploratory committee.

The September 1995 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report asks about "Black Helicopters?"

The June 1996 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report refers to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms officers as "Jackbooted Thugs."

Jews

The November 1992 Ron Paul Survival Report defends chess champion and Holocaust-denier Bobby Fischer, saying that "the brilliant Fischer, who has all the makings of an American hero, is very politically incorrect on Jewish questions, for which he will never be forgiven, even though he is a Jew. Thus we are not supposed to herald him as the world's greatest chess player."

Newsletter Authorship

The masthead of March 1987 Ron Paul Investment Letter lists "the Hon. Ron Paul" as "Editor and Publisher" and "Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr." as one of several contributing editors.

An undated personal solicitation letter--signed by Paul--asking the recipient to subscribe to his newsletter in anticipation of (presumably) the 1988 Libertarian Party Presidential nominating convention.

The April 1988 Ron Paul Investment Letter lists Paul as Editor.

The May 1988 Ron Paul Investment Letter lists Lew Rockwell as Editor. It also advertises books by the far-right conspiracy theorist Gary Allen, who was a contributing editor to the Ron Paul Investment Letter.

I really don't find any of those comments particularly offensive, given the context of their times (i.e. race riots, hense the only comment that is a tad disturbing to me the "setting of the blacks...") and the tensions therin. They are not politically correct, no, but Hillary just call Ghandi a gas station attandant and she got a free pass. Anyone that abandons ship over this, well, there are a lot more important things to consider than some dumbass ghostwriters insensitive and politcally incorrect comments of 18-13 years ago.

Anyone ever read the Papers Hillary wrote about her love of Marxism in college? How about McCain using 'Gook' himself on video?

I'm giving the Doc a pass on this, his character is evident to me.

My innate bullshit sensor goes off like a fire alarm when I hear McHucksonguilaney of Obamillawards speak.

Glad I read this, as a white guy living in a 98% African american community, I sometimes feel intimidated into being overly sensitive, but didn't really find them offensive, and some are unpleasant truths, like the ATF being "Bootstrapped Thugs" and in the early 90's heteros has a very slim chance of contracting HIV.

Ahhh he said "Black Helicopters" What???

BTW can you send me a pm with that Grassroots thing link you had on the chatroom, I zapped my favorites.
