New Jersey Star Ledger "Blew It" Endorsing Christie. Then Severely Bashes Rand

Yeah, that would be a decision alright. A choice between a corrupt-as-all-hell bully and someone who wants to get the federal government back within its constitutional boundaries and give the power back to the states and the people.

so who still lives in new york/new jersey really.. large cities are dying. there's no need for them in information age. industrial age moved people out of the suburbs, you don't need to crowd everyone in a prison cell to organize operations to produce daily needs now, big cities will be phased out at some point. you can tell from their finances. only old out of touch morons are still there, really, if they weren't too broke to move down to florida to retire

Wishful thinking, I'm afraid. While I agree that in a post-industrial economy large cities are no longer necessary, living in a large cosmopolitan metropolis appeals to many people on an aesthetic level, even if they could easily commute or telecommute to a job there.

Current census data show the US population continues to move into conurbations at the rate of about 1% per year. By 2050, the UN projects the percentage of the population of "more developed" nations living in urban areas will rise to 86% from its current level of 78%, while in "less developed" nations the level will rise from 47% to 64%.

That's funny because I read the endorsement and it was more a bash-fest of Christie and a "he's going to win by a landslide". Star Ledger is a very liberal paper and not in the good way, they are mini-tyrants themselves. It would not surprise me in the least if they endorsed him only to later make a publicity stunt out of regretting it. They had a poll to that affect only a few days after the endorsement. "Did we make a mistake?"

i am not going to deny that to second world country citizens and immigrants the polluted cities are still a big appeal because of how their neon signs reminds them of their homeland. that is the primary reason big cities aren't bankrupt yet. when they come to america, large crowded cities are still near the top of their agenda. i don't really care what short mortality span people think though. people affluent enough to relocate from second world countries usually come from big cities where living cost is closer to that of the us

Would that all the brainless Rand bashers would preamble their bashing by discrediting themselves. Would save us a lot of work over the next couple of years.

If they are admitting they blew it big time with Christie, why should anyone care what they say about Rand or anyone else?

are you reading stuff that isn't there? maybe you need to get away from your liberal friends for a while. and brainless sports as well it seems. btw if you know little crap about immigrants, don't. having lived there for 10 years and talking to immigrants on a daily basis in so cal, i am more than qualified to speak on this issue. and btw, people from large cities living in close proximity to each other are more homogeneous in their thinking traits than you think
