New Iowa Bloomberg Poll: Rand in 5th with 5%, Trump and Bush continue to slide

If Rand passes Bush in polling and they continue to ask him if he's going to drop out, he can then ask the media why they're not asking Jeb Bush if he's going to drop out too.
I had a thought today about where Bush supporters would go if he dropped out? Would Rand get any of them? ?????

Fox had a big piece on Ted Cruz on Special Report. Very favorable. It made me nauseous.

Wow.. I didn't see that, but at the sametime not to be unexpected. They're going to use him to try and fill that vacumn. Rand just needs to focus on turning out as many as he possibly can. They're going to distract him the best way they can.

"Who said that? An 'unnamed Republican strategist' ?

I would say this time its people connected with the NRSC, maybe a McConnell staffer, who knows? but I would say it's more than just Cruz supporters dropping hints.

Regardless who said it the Politico article shows the difficult position Rand is in. He's trying to run for President feigning interesting in a Senate re-election campaign at the same time. Yeah, donors to the latter are going to be pissed he's using money for the former when they support other candidates. Only the fact the Dems don't have a candidate right now keeps the pressure from being worse. But as I said, the poll results actually buy Rand some more time.

Not sure FEC allows a Senate campaign to raise money for a POTUS campaign. Donors are supposed to donate specifically to one, the other or both (stating amounts for each).

There aren't separate accounts by which you can donate money. There is only "Rand Paul 2016," which is on his website. The money is fungible.

Listening to Carson more he's actually pretty awful. He supports taxing EVERYBODY! When asked about some people not paying any taxes he said that he wants everyone to have "skin in the game". What a horrible answer from a liberty perspective. When this question was asked to Ron Paul that a certain percentage of Americans didn't pay taxes he said, "That's great! Half of my job is done. Let's work to zero it out for everyone." I really like tax plans that exempt the first 50k of earnings. That would really reinvigorate the middle class. You would see the economy take off if that ever came to fruition. Of course this would just be a transitional tax plan until we can zero it out for all Americans. I think this is a realistic first step toward that goal.

Online focus should be Cruz's huge ball drop on the CISA vote...he claims he voted for it but didn't read it....and that's OK somehow? Cruz is a wolf in sheep's clothing !

There is absolutely no reason for Rand to be campaigning in KY right now. He's doing his job and Kentuckians have no complaints. Texans and Floridians on the other hand should be pissed. Rand has some establishment enemies in Ky. Hal Rodgers for example. At the end of the day he is fine to keep doing what he is doing.
I think the people "connected to the NRSC" are likely consultants. This continued crap from Politico is very Rubenesque and is really becoming old news. When WAPO calls them out you know there is crap in the air.

Carson is way too religious and socially conservative, reminds me of Dubya

As the pollsters continue to realize that the younger demographic WILL be showing up to vote the higher Rand's poll numbers will start to go. When in reality Rand, like Ron has been there the whole time but they know they have to cut off the over 50 crowd who might vote for him, but sense he's got "no chance" they don't want to waste their vote. Rand is going to get his surge, but their strategy is to attempt to convince those over 50 that he has no shot so there's no point in voting for him. I suppose you have to take the good with the bad, but even though Rand will be the"peeking" at the right time could still be at a big disadvantage due to how the MSM has been covering him the whole time. They know for a fact Rand will do no worse than 3rd on election night, but they are sure going to do their damdus to convince everyone otherwise. I feel like their using the same playbook they did on Ron against Rand. I just hope the campaign/Rand knows this and has some sort of counter if there is one. This might be the only positive we can take from Trump being in the race in that hopefully they'll be focusing time and resources on him and not Rand.

You really think they will? I'll believe it when I see it.

Rand's recent rise is still with in the MOE isn't it? I don't think much has changed, I'll get excited when he gets in double figures.

That won't happen until January when the pollsters will have no choice but to raise Rand's poll numbers, because if they don't and Rand wins Iowa they will look horrible.

That is scripted like a positive push poll. Seriously.
