New GMO Tomato: More Nutritious, Stays Fresh Longer

It's really unscientific to think that you can prove that GMO's are healthy considering that there is no way to know what the long term consequences of splicing together a bunch of totally disparate genes are going to be.... you can't blame people for wanting to error on the side of caution and just stick with the natural foods that we have evolved to eat over millions of years... the problem is that there is no way to isolate these experiments to the laboratories that that they came from, and now we are forever stuck with these totally unpredictable consequences replicating throughout nature, apparently contaminating it forever...

That's something a terminator seed could prevent, you know.

Ok, well I really hope that you are right because I see cross pollination happening that is altering natural plants.

I don't eat things that don't go bad.

Please refrain from eating or drinking:

Honey, sugar, jerky, brand, rum, vodka, whiskey, gin, salt, maple syrup, vinegar, rice, or water.

Either way, I'd be interested in knowing what color the juice is...if it is purple, could we see a return of Heinz purple ketchup only with no additional coloration agent added?

Either case, I agree with Angela. Even if this weren't GMO, I doubt people would go for it. What do all these products have in common? Purple/green ketchup, clear cola, and default colored margarine? They all did very poorly in the consume market because of people's perception of color and taste.

So now when I look down I'll see tomatoes interspersed with the corn kernels?

Until you can prove otherwise, which should be fairly easy to do, that's a fact. Monsanto has never sued anybody that did not intentionallly plant the seeds.

Hello, I'm from the government and I'm here to check your farm records. Please prove that you bought your seed, instead of saved it, or else you have absolutely no chance in court. Our inspectors have taken samples from your fields and have confirmed the presence of a small amount of patented genes.

Do you have any evidence of that, or is it just an opinion? There is no GMO wheat on the market, but if you're correct there is a disease just waiting in the wings. So apparently simple crop diversity isnt cutting it.

We don't have crop diversity when it comes to wheat. The presence of the diseases was reported in National Geographic.

Doesn't the fact that, despite the fact that Monsanto is second most hated corporation on these forums, nobody has been able to prove me wrong on that point might lend some credibility to the statement?

I believe the reports coming from the farmers. You can go ahead and believe Monsanto.

Can you prove that ever has happened?
