New Flu Pandemic Warning

With the grin emoticon I thought I was trying to denote a light hearted jab at Kludge regarding a post from me just minutes ago.

I was of course referring to the "legal" definition of "copyright." Not that I agree with it. Nor disagree entirely.

Thanks for "harshing" my joke. You joke harsher.

Far be it from me to defend Collins and it may NEVER happen again but you seem to be a tad on the sensitive side and defensive in general. Gotta toughen up if you wanna keep up with the big dogs (and the big chijuajua's in Matts case).

I've never gotten a flu shot, and I've never had the flu.

I was going to reply to this saying that I got the flu before I ever got a flu shot, but then I remembered that I don't know what shots I got when in the military - they just shot us up, no explanation.

Oh yeah they did! I've been military all through my childhood and young adult life. The records my parents have from the military on the shots as a child are numerous.

I remember in Boot receiving a "shot" from an "jet injector" that used air to separate the epidermis and inject the vaccinations. They said "don't jerk or it will leave a scar."

I've not had a single shot since leaving the care of the military.

I've not suffered any adverse affects in life other than those attributed to aging.

Naw. I was just goofin' on him. "Sensitive" I ain't. As far as "defensive" I wholly agree with the philosophy. I would say that I am "defensive" in general. I've been to the RPFs rodeo a time or two and can ride with the best.

I'm obviously just not communicating jests well today.

I think the word "Pandemic" has been spouted so much that it has lost effectiveness. When something big comes along like the flu of 1918 they'll have to invent a new word.

Sadly, people have been trained by Hollywood and television doomsday programs that a "pandemic" implies a highly virulent (and lethal) microbial agent. In reality, most pandemics are caused by rarely-lethal microbes; only the deadly ones, however, get the media attention.
