New Campaign Website Just Launched!!!

Much, MUCH better! Still needs to be polished, but we should definitely keep this layout. I still wish they would go back to the original red white and blue "A" though.

YESSSSSSSSS, I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE ANNOYED ABOUT THAT....

Maybe it's an OCD thing, but I still liked it as a red, white, and blue "A".

Lighter on the eyes.

On the issues page (which I am tweeting far and wide) the writing in the issues 'picture' is very clear but the red writing under the issues saying what the issues are is less so and I had to study it to see it refers to the picture above not below, because the writing is not closer to one than the other... or something. Just as a comment. It looks temporary, though, so it might just be a development stage.

I noticed the same thing.

If anyone knows the guy at ronpaul.com please tell him that his site links from http://wcfcourier.com/iowacaucus/profiles/ron_paul/

Apparently the newspaper used his link instead of ronpaul2012.com Although I think ronpaul.com is a better website for people to go to...if we want people to see the ticker and donate...they may pass up the opportunity when they go to ronpaul.com

so tell him/her to contact the wcf to change the link or have ronpaul.com put up the ticker with a donate link..thanks

"The issues" section Needs videos where Paul discusses the issues. If not outright replacing the text statements, at least in addition to. Text is for leaflets to hand out. If you've drawn someone to your website, no matter how, a video being readily accessible from the front page will keep them on your site listening to your words for at least a minute. If you can draw them in, they'll listen to video after video. There's a reason why political ads want to show the actual candidate speaking as much as possible: it creates a connection. And with Paul, that connection is everything. The statements ready like empty, hollowed-out versions of Paul. I could even see some of them being copied and pasted into websites of other candidates, and they wouldn't even be outright lies. But Paul speaking, speaks to the heart. What you want to create is a simplified version of RonPaulFlix. Something where you assume the person watching is not yet a fan or supporters, but where you try to actually speak to that person. "This is me. Here is where I stand. I have nothing to hide. Ask me any question. I will answer truthfully."

If anything, you then wouldn't have to fix the font of the current text ;)

IN 2008 they had exactly that...some snippets of Ron addressing the issues...they were decent

I commented at the paper that it was a supporter site. Yeah, it is a pain, and happens frequently. But it drives him traffic.

I so disagree with that. I watch video for enjoyment or to see Ron's delivery, but for research I want it in writing, it is SO much faster. I'd leave immediately if I were looking into a candidate and all they had were videos. Now, Rand's was nice, with videos, but also text.

However, I suspect the video will be back when the ticker isn't up. Isn't that where they had rotating video, before?

Yeah, video probably shouldn't be in the issues area, but if you want footage of Ron Paul, there is a whole section dedicated to that called "Media"

Same here on the text versus video. I want the issues in depth in text and if I want to hear more I then start youtubing or vimeo or whatever. Doesn't matter the subject.

Best

Agreed, the text isn't very readable for me either. (Using Google Chrome as my browser)

Using Firefox it looks a lot better and the text is actually a different font, where it is italicized.... Strange.

Overall great update though! :D

Well chrome automatically modifies fonts on all websites which is one reason i prefer firefox.

Only issue I have that bothers me is the links. words like "the" and "about" should be uniform with the other words in the link, and as some have pointed out, the hover color being so close the the background (red/red) is a potential issue. maybe white, or leave it blue but italicize the hovering text.

better, but that red has got to go. It's obvious they have a programmer, but no graphic artist.

The text within the red and blue areas either needs to be white, or that bar needs to be toned down and lightened. I would go for bolder white text in the red blocks.
