With the Iran war-drums in full swing, we thought a foundational understanding of the nuclear dilemma, the adopted solution (Atoms for Peace, UN, NPT, IAEA, UNSC), and the history of Iran's nuclear program within this framework was long overdue. Hopefully this video will help bring understanding to this issue and help support rational dialogue.

Thanks everyone here at RonPaulForums for the continued inspiration & support, if any of you guys with media talent are interested in conspiring/collaborating/working for us on future projects contact us.

What should we make next?

interesting video, thanks!

A thought: what if Iran does obtain the nuclear bomb and it gives it to terrorist networks which then threaten some of the western nations? I think that might be one line of reasoning Israel and some the west use against Iran's nuclear program. How would you guys answer that line of thinking?

If a nuke went off in Israel, it would kill many Palestinians, no? Does Iran want to kill Palestinians or do they support their plight?

If a nuke went off in the USA, what country would be leveled in a matter of days or weeks? Is Iran suicidal?

edit: This based on Iran already having a nuke from your comment

And you'd have to define "terrorist networks"... who does that mean? The US just took the MEK off the terrorist list affirming that it all just comes back to what ol G.W. said: "You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists".

Is the US concerned that one country would give weapons to another country or another group to promote an agenda? We mustn't let that happen!

It was the end of the world when Pakistan got a nuke. It was the end of the world when India got a nuke. It was REALLY REALLY REALLY the end of the world when the USSR got... what was it.... 40,000 nukes?

And yet here we are.

what if N korea does the same ?
You notice We (the USA ) don't bully nations that have nuclear power we only bully the ones that don't !

Interesting thought: Is the NPT (specifically the pursuit of nuclear disarmament) simply gun-control writ large? Iran complains that the NPT is simply being used to monopolize power (by only allowing the nuclear weapons states to have them). Hard to argue.

Here's an article I wrote on it... quite a dilemma still.

I think iran should have nuclear weapons to protect themselves against the USA ! look what happened to iraq (hmmm)

better yet maybe we should get out of other peoples business and worry about our own issues

Awesome. Bookmarked for later this week. Does it mention "laptop of death?"

I'm fairly familiar with the alleged laptop issue... but its incredibly difficult to take a complex topic & cut out all the hundreds of nuancing details to just give a summary of the core issues. Basically the policy is Iran can't enrich. The rest of the actions ( "Negotiations" accusations, etc) are simply meant to give diplomatic cover to the policy. So here's how the cycle works:

Step 1: Make a ton of hyped up accusations about suspicious activity around Iran's nuclear program (whether they have any substance or not is unimportant).
Step 2: Use these accusations as a pretext to demand Iran suspend enriching till it clears up the accusations.
Step 3. Refuse to actually resolve the issues as the goal isn't to resolve anything (ie for the laptop refuse to show the actual evidence).
Step 4: If Iran goes back to enriching change the narrative to "Iran uncooperative on clarify suspicious activites, defying international obligations, etc.

Repeat as necessary.

It's kinda like the downing st memo's where "The intelligence is shaped around the policy"

Great video! If the NPT requires nuclear disarmament and doesn't allow nuclear proliferation, then isn't the U.S.A. out of compliance with the NPT?

Really good video and excellent article Kaleb. Thinking of showing this to my family. Oh how stubborn they would be about it I guess.

That it would be easier for those terroirsts to obtain one of the 300 MIA bombs from the former USSR then rely on a nation to develop their own technology, obtain enough rare fissionable U-235 Uranium. Hide its construction from the world and the inspectors (who know what to look for) and then the terrorists would have to figure out how to get it to its target. Frankly if "terrorists" wanted to kill a bunch of people theres much easier ways then a Abomb.

And, there are easier ways than hijacking a plane and trying to get it all the way to it's target in highly monitored air space and crashing it into a ..... well, maybe not.
