Need Help Fighting a BEARCAT - from Facebook Ad Promoter/Activists

Set up for failure from the outset.

THERE IS NO GROWING THREAT OF CRIME OR TERRORISM.

Cop killings are on track to be the lowest ever recorded for 2013.

Violent crime is at historical lows.

Political terrorism, excepting the government sponsored variety, is for all intents and purposes, non-existent.

And no, it's not because of militarized cops.

Legalizing self defense and (some) drugs is the biggest factor I can see.

"I am not anti-police, and I recognize the concerns surrounding the growing threats of violence related to drug use, gangs and terrorism, but I am concerned about what appears to be a growing gulf between the men and women in uniform (military and police ) and the civilian population. It seems we have gotten away from the true notion of a citizen-soldier or the beat cop who was integral to the neighborhood and moved toward a much more impersonal model that invites an us-vs.-them mentality."

BTW, this was a victory for the Free State Project. The FSP was listed at a terrorist organization and 1 of the reasons why Concord needed the BEARCAT on the original application. Because of the activism, the FSP was taken off the revised application. It's a victory for the FSP but still a lose for Concord because by 2 votes, Concord got a BEARCAT.

Anyway, victory is sweet and shows the activism can pay off ;)

Keith Nyhan, who represents Ward 7 on the city’s South Side, said he received a book about the militarization of police from BearCat opponents. “I don’t buy into the conspiracy theory,” he said

Fuckheads like this will say the mass grave right in front of them is a "conspiracy theory".

We trainers have spent the past decade trying to ingrain in our students the concept that the American police officer works a battlefield every day he patrols his sector.

Wtf? That dude's head is in the sand. What is a theory in regards to that book? It lays out the facts and history of how we got to the point where police feel they are entitled to tanks.

Truth is, none of us read that book. Admit it. You didn't read it either :(
