My parents are in their 70's. When the Vietnam war protests / drug culture was the radical and hip thing to be doing, they were in their early 20's. They were married and had a kid, owned a home and a new car. They watched Lawrence Welk, for God's sakes.

They thought that the Kent State protesters deserved to be shot.

My parents wore tie dye, both were long hairs and traveled around the country living in a van for while. My dad was a state president for SDS which is about as ultra left as you can get and got arrested a bunch of times for vietnam era protests. When I was a kid the FBI would come to the house looking for the weathermen.

Nebraska GOP establishment may have learned a thing or three from NC GOP -- treat Paulers fairly and you don't get massive disruption of the convention. In NC however, we get a LOT of floor debate on platform and resolutions, one at a time. That simple acceptance of platform and resolutions as presented was kind of weird to me.

I'm also accustomed to conventions going until almost sunset in order to accommodate all of that debate.

The Paulers at the NEGOP are expressing shock that nothing happened in the way of platform/resolution debate.

In another four years, all these close calls (with winning) and mess-ups are going to be wins. Everybody just got their feet wet this year. Next time, with the help of the other local elections in between, it's going to be "everyone into the pool"! Maybe we should all get Gettysburg College Swim team shirts. lol
And if there is a black swan event and Ron wins, we'll elect people to back him up in 2014.
There were 271 cosponsors of Audit the Fed last time I looked. I agree with what someone else said on another thread about getting that passed before Tampa. I only wish I could be there or at least watch it.
By the way, any chance thst some of the Romney slate are stealth RP supporters?

True. It just keeps snowballing. Eventually, we'll win. And when we do, the mainstream GOP will say that our positions were theirs all along. Just watch.
